3rd person POV
Mirabel didn't know why, but she was getting a really bad feeling at the dinner table today.
She just felt like something was going to happen.
And wouldn't you know it, she was right.
"Familia" Abuela suddenly announced, "I have some news. Antonio will be moved into the nursery tomorrow."
Mirabel felt her entire world freeze. No, no, no, this was bad! What if he saw the egg? A baby wouldn't be able to keep quiet about that! Not to mention, he would cry a lot and that could be bad for the egg! Nargacugas were silent hunters, they loved the quiet, loud sounds would make it distressed!
"Mama, are you sure?" Pepa asked, much to Mirabel's relief, "I'm alright with him staying with me for a little longer. Its no trouble." "I'm sure. We've always done things this way, and besides the nursery is only home to Mirabel right now."
"Its her room though" Julieta said timidly, "We can't just kick her out." "Nonsense, only people with Gifts have rooms. The nursery is not Mirabel's room, and Antonio is going in there, end of discussion." "Yes mama" Pepa and Julieta said at the same time, as if they were just used to this.
Mirabel was half-tempted to argue back, to tell Abuela that they should just make a new room for her, that she didn't want to share with a child! She finished her dinner, and left as quietly as possible while Abuela talked to Isabella about that Mariano guy.
Heading into the nursery, Mirabel carefully, quickly and quietly picked up the egg and rocked it back and forth. "What am I gonna do little one?" she said, "I can't let anybody see you, they'll just ask questions, maybe even take you away from me..."
Casita clattered its tiles in response. "There is a way." Mirabel immediately paid full attention, "How?" "I can make a room that no-one except for you can access. It would be quiet, dark and isolated enough that you wouldn't have to worry about anyone seeing the egg."
"That's perfect!" Mirabel said. Instantly, she felt Casita shift slightly, and a small doorknob appeared in the space between her bed and wardrobe. Grabbing hold and twisting it, Mirabel opened the door to a small forested room, with a nest already made and waiting in the centre.
Mirabel put the egg, still wrapped in the blue blanket, in the centre of the nest. It was just big enough for her to sleep in if she chose to.
Content, Mirabel went back to the nursery and grabbed a few of her things, before going into the new room once more and lying down next to the egg.
She whispered, "Goodnight little one" and drifted off to sleep.
End of Chapter Three
Next chapter we get introduced to Mira's little child! So that means I need some name suggestions. Something to keep in mind is that the nargacuga will be a girl, so make sure to choose female names! Whichever one I like the best will get a shout out in the next chapter! Anyway, make sure you choose a name that you think would really fit for a nargacuga, until next time and...
