Thoughts Of A Stormy Night

114 6 6

The wind runs across the meadows

Gives voice in all the hollows

In that darkness I can't fathom

Passion still gives out a spasm

*

All I suffered for a blunder

One that hit my head like thunder

I hear my sharp intake of breath

But sit still through the dance of death

*

I dreamed I was amongst the ones

That could dream of a thousand suns

Because my head is filled with worms

The kind that moves around and squirms

*

In the rain, I'm not really here

And I wish my ear would mishear

But as I realise it's right

The infancy of my dreams blight

*

As they go paler and wither

My anxiety goes dither

*

A fairly soothing hand will calm

The shivers I have in its palm

*

As maidens urge to find true love

This devotion away I shove

And my lips breath away a psalm

I wish had the strength of a bomb

*

Your body and your soul are gone

But somehow as I meet the dawn

My tremors though the lights becalm

And I head back home with aplomb
