The Longest Hallway

In the dream I was walking. I was walking down a hallway in a school that I have never seen before. It was a strange hallway, the walls completely lined with lockers and not a single door.

And it was seriously the longest hallway I had ever seen in my life.

I was the only one walking. Students stood by the lockers just staring at me as I passed. The hallway seemed endless, and I wondered for a moment where it led to, before I realized that I probably didnt want to know.

I kept walking for what seemed like hours, down the same long hallway with the same curious eyes watching me. Part of me wanted this to be over, and the other part of me wanted to stay here, in this lulling endless march down the never ending corridor.

The world seemed to agree with the first part of me--

-- I was violently shaken awake, my eyes meeting the panicked ones of my mothers before spotting the orange-red flames down the hall in her room.

I smelled the smoke. I saw the fire. I saw my mothers hand clutched over one ear, blocking out a noise.

I could see her lips moving, but couldn't make out what she was trying to tell me and I saw the tears in her eyes.

But I didn't hear a sound.

This would frighten any other person but not me.

For me, this was the norm.

I was deaf...

Hi guys, I know that this is already different than anything else I've written, but I really wanted to try something new. This idea just came to me and I hope it's as beautiful as I dreamed it up to be.

I know that the prologue doesn't tell you much but, I was wondering if a beginning like this intrigued people..? So does it intrigue you?

Please comment whether or not you want to hear the rest of this story or not.. If you already hate it, tell me. If you love it (which I hope you do (: ) please vote for it!

Thank you guys so much for your support and for reading this prologue! :)))
