INNNN MY SOLITUDE LOOKIN' AHHH (skull emoji)

No TWs I don't think lol.

Several weeks later, Jenny excitedly shared with Lucy that she had officially entered a relationship with M. Lucy's joy for Jenny was palpable; she showered her friend with congratulations and heartfelt smiles. Lucy's happiness for Jenny was twofold – not only did she share in Jenny's happiness, but the weight of her previous anxieties seemed to lift as well. For the first time in weeks, Lucy found herself genuinely smiling.

The glow of Jenny's happiness, however, highlighted the loneliness that lingered within Lucy's own heart, despite having a boyfriend of her own. There were moments when doubts gnawed at her – did he truly love her for who she was, or was his affection merely superficial? Memories of unsettling texts that had made her uncomfortable resurfaced, but Lucy chose to brush them aside, focusing on the promise of the future rather than dwelling on the past.

Within the outside of HAC, Lucy sometimes found herself sitting in solitude, her heart yearning for deeper connections. Brief visits from Jenny and Lukie provided fleeting companionship, but these moments were short-lived, lasting no more than a few minutes before they had to part ways. Lucy understood their constraints, yet the brevity of their interactions left her with a sense of melancholy.

Nevertheless, Lucy's happiness for Jenny remained steadfast. She even attempted to bridge the gaps by creating a group chat that included Jenny, M, and "J", aiming to foster a sense of camaraderie among them all. The initial exchanges were lively, but as time passed, tensions simmered between Lucy and "J". What began as a disagreement escalated, resulting in both Lucy and "J" removing each other from the group chat. The sense of unity she had hoped to nurture seemed to slip through her fingers.

A week later, Jenny delivered unexpected news – her relationship with M had ended. The revelation jolted Lucy, leaving her puzzled and disheartened. She replayed various scenarios in her mind, grappling with questions that seemed to multiply with every passing thought. Could it have been the presence of "J" that contributed to the breakup? Did her own actions unknowingly play a role? Overwhelmed by these doubts, Lucy decided to let her thoughts rest for the night, hoping for clarity when she awoke the next day.

On a tranquil Saturday afternoon, Lucy reached out to Jenny, seeking answers to the recent breakup. Jenny's reply echoed with simplicity: "He told me he wasn't ready for a relationship yet." The words tugged at Lucy's thoughts, prompting her to introspect further. "Is that how I feel about 'J'? Am I, a sixth-grader, really prepared for a relationship?" she pondered, her mind swirling with uncertainty.

In response, Lucy empathized, typing, "Oh, damn, that sucks. I wish you guys could've lasted longer 😞." Jenny's next message struck a chord with Lucy, as it echoed her own sentiments. "No, it's alright. Like for some reason I just felt like I just wanted to be with him y'know? Like I just felt the same way about him and decided that it would be a good idea to be with him. Especially since it made me happy in the long run. Kinda like how you're sometimes happy with your novio."

A grin of recognition tugged at Lucy's lips, finding solace in the resonance of her friend's experience. She eagerly texted back, baring her own feelings, "I FEEL THE EXACT SAME WAY ABOUT ME AND 'J.' LIKE HE'S LITERALLY THE DEVIL, BUT I STILL DECIDED TO ACCEPT HIS FEELINGS TOWARDS ME. WHEN I FELT THE SAME WAY EVEN THOUGH I WASN'T SO SURE IF I FELT THE SAME WAY OR NOT ABOUT HIM. The crazy part is he couldn't even tell me face to face and decided to tell me through text, which I thought was a little bit sad that he couldn't tell me like straight to my face. But it's all because of his dumb little friends' faults as they would've probably made fun of him for dating someone as useless like me." An outburst of emotion punctuated her message, leaving her briefly breathless. As she reread her message, a pang of doubt crept in, "Maybe I overshared a little bit too much..."

Collecting herself, Lucy moved forward in her conversation with Jenny, to get that thought out of her head.

As the days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, summer arrived, filling the air with excitement and endless possibilities for the two girls. They had eagerly planned out all the ways they would make the most of their time together. However, a surprising twist awaited them both as they started to connect with M more often. They found themselves engaged in different games, laughing, and genuinely having fun together.

Then, Jenny shared some unexpected news yet again. She revealed that M had texted her, asking to get back together. Unsure of how to respond, Jenny turned to Lucy for advice.

Lucy, surprised by the situation, quickly began brainstorming ideas for Jenny's response. "Tell him that you need some time to think," Lucy suggested.

Jenny's eyes lit up, and she exclaimed, "Oh my gosh, you're a genius! Why didn't I think of that?" Lucy couldn't help but smile at the compliment. Being acknowledged for her intelligence made her feel a sense of pride and accomplishment.
