Richard Sweeney was in his office, smoothing out the final details for a funeral in the morning when the phone rang, "Sweeney & Todd mortuary. This is Sweeney, how can I help you?", "Richie, Richie, Richie, Rich.", "...Hello Heidi.", "Do you know where your daughter is right now?" Aw hell. Heidi was drunk, "Probably out celebrating her birthday?", "She's 'busy'. At home. Do you know what that means Rich?", "It means she probably had some friends over?", "It means she's probably f-fuckin some BOY!" Richard really didn't want to talk about this, but he also couldn't just let her say that, "Heidi, she's 27.", "Oh, so you approve of your daughter whoring herself out?", "That's not what I- Caroline is an adult. She can make her own decisions. Is that all you called for?" The other line was quiet for a moment, then Heidi said, "...No, I need your help.", "God! Heidi again?!", "I know, but it wasn't my fault this time!", "How many times have I heard that one before?", "I mean it! God just- please Rich?" Richard sighed and rubbed his eyes under his glasses, "...I'm getting old Heidi. I'm not going to be able to do this forever.", "I know, this was the last time I promise! I mean- I really promise this time!" Richard didn't believe that at all. Regardless, he said, "I'll be there in 10 minuets." and hung up. He hated this. He hated how much he bent to Heidi because he felt bad for her, and he hated how he couldn't say no because of how much she reminded him of Kate. He also hated how blaise he'd become when it came to cleaning up her messes. Richard grabbed his hat and a shovel and headed out the door, praying to God that Caroline wouldn't have to do this when he was gone.
