"Why you never told me that Axel was your childhood best friend" I said and grabbed my coat
"I thought you remembered" Chase said through the phone
"Please I nearly remembered what I did yesterday"
"Now that's a lie"
"You know what I mean" I said yawned
"You sound tired, are you sure you are going to make it through the photo shoot"
"Yeah Yeah, it's not much, it's just some meetings for the campaign and stuff like that"
"You should tell -"
"Oh my cab is here, I have to go, love you, bye" I said and closed the phone quickly
Before I could even enter the meeting room I heard Rosalie, my manager
"Aurora, sweetie, how nice to see you" she said and hugged me
"Happy to see you too" "What happened, you usually wait inside the meeting room"
"Oh nothing serious just some small changes" she said smiling and accompanied me to the room
When I entered the room the only thing I could think about was the change that Rosalie mentioned
We were sitting in a huge table with a lot of people that in my opinion shouldn't be here
While the photographer was showing the pictures to us so we can choose and discuss who we are going to publish, then the owner of the company spoke
"So Aurora, the final pictures are amazing I can't say but there is a small problem"
When he said that words I froze, I knew that this would came but I had totally forgot about it during time
"What's the problem" I said while shaking my leg
"You are in your last year of college and it's great for your education and for your social media because as Rosalie told us you study as a social media director but the time you spent to college much more than the one you spent for modeling and your social media"
Then Rosalie spoke "We don't ask you to drop out but right now you have to choose, you are not even active on social any more something that has a really huge impact on your career, even though the story last night got you back to the game but a story is not enough" "I'm telling you this for your own good"
"Yes I completely understand but I hope this is not a problem with the current campaign" I said trying to hold back tears
"No, no the campaign will be published by schedule, after all you are one of the best models of your time" "Anyway, it was an amazing meeting and it was great to work with you all" the owner of the company said and got up
Everyone left the room and I waited a little bit for the room to be empty so I can process what happened in peace
I opened my phone to text Amelia but I noticed that Axel had messaged me
- Do you want to pick you up after the meeting
- sorry for not replying I was busy
- yeah I noticed
- Also yes I would like to pick me up, I'm too tired
- Perfect, wanna go for lunch
- Yeah I would like that
- Amazing, send me your location
I closed the phone and I realized that I was smiling like a little kid
I quickly packed my stuff and left the building
Moments later a saw Axel's cat stopping in front of me

She entered the car and I couldn't notice how beautiful she looked
She was wearing a black short bodysuit with a hoodie on top
Got this body suit was looking great on her
She left her stuff at the cup holders but before I could talk to her, her phone rang
"Oh sorry, it's Chase, I should pick up" she said and answer the phone
"Hey Chase" "I'm with Axel right now" "No I can't" "It's not right" "Don't-" "Okay fine fine" she said and closed the phone
"Sorry about that" she said and sighed
"Can you drop me off to Chase's place, he said it was an emergency, you know how he is with this stuff"
"Yes of course" I said trying to hold my anger back
While we were driving she told me everything about what happened at the photo shoot
"And what are you going to do" I asked
"I will drop out"
"It has to be a way to balance this out"
"Look, they are right, I have no time for modeling any more something that really doesn't help my career" she said trying to hold back tears
"You know the best and if you need anything, I will be here for you"
"Thank you Axel"
Minutes later We were at Chase's house
She opened the door and left the car
"You own me a dinner now" she said laughing
"Don't worry, I will have a better plan next time" I said and started the car again
While I was driving back to work the only thing I could think of is how I messed up so back
I knew coming back here was a bad idea but I had no other choice
And meeting with Chase was the worst
Since we were kids he always wanted to have everything that I had and even more
Today is Saturday, Aurora always meets with him on Sundays so i knew it was bad news
Aurora doesn't know the truth but Chase does and I will do everything to keep his mouth shut so she doesn't hurt her
Not only from me but also from him because if he speaks I can reveal all his little dirty secrets that he keeps from her

"So you and Axel" Chase said and opened the TV
"There is no me and Axel, we are just friends, I guess, he is really kind" I said and sit on the couch
"Yeah he is but I'm better" he said laughing
"Obviously" "Anyway, why you called me here, we usually meet every Sunday"
"I just wanted to see you"
"Yeah don't be ridiculous, couldn't you wait until tomorrow"
"No I couldn't and besides this is a great chance to see the new season of our favorite series"
"You are right, I'm just tired, sorry for acting like that"
"No worries" he said and opened Netflix
