pov. Khaotung:I woke up with a pleasant feeling. As I stretched, I suddenly felt someone lying next to me. I sat up and saw First lying beside me. Quickly, I looked down at myself. "Nothing happened yesterday. In case you're wondering," First said sleepily next to me. "Okay, but what the hell am I doing lying next to you and not in my bed?" "Well, I won't tell you that," he said with a mischievous smile. I grabbed the pillow and threw it at his face. "Idiot." I got out of bed and went to my room to shower and change into fresh clothes.
Flashback
Pov First:
We lay stretched out on the beach. After a while of silence, I started to speak. "Khaotung, somehow you manage to make me want to get to know you, and you evoke a feeling in me that I've never felt with anyone else." There was no response. I waited and waited. Perhaps he simply didn't know what to say. When I looked at him, he was asleep. I watched him for a while. He was so beautiful.
After a few minutes, I decided to take him inside as it was getting cold. He wasn't heavy, surprisingly he continued to sleep. I brought him into my room, laid him on my bed, took off his shoes and jacket, and lay down beside him after I had taken off my own clothes as well. I watched him sleep for a while. How could a person sleep so beautifully.End of the flashback
Pov Khaotung:
When I entered the kitchen, I heard voices everywhere. That meant everyone else was awake. As I walked in, I called out, "Good morning." I received smiles in return, and Force said, "The morning couldn't be better." I didn't question this, as it was Force. I had only met him yesterday, but that was enough for me to know he was a show-off, though funny, and he seemed to be a great friend to the others as well. They had already set the table, so we all sat down. "Where's First, by the way?" Jan asked. Everyone shrugged. Mark volunteered to go look for him. When he returned, he sat down without saying a word. Everyone looked at him questioningly. "He'll be here in a moment," Mark said with a bewildered look. Force laughed. "What did you see?" To avoid answering, Mark stuffed a pancake into his mouth.
When First walked in, he acted as if nothing had happened, and we all burst into laughter. Uncomfortable silence ensued. Instead, Force changed the subject to lighten the mood.
As we had breakfast, we began making plans for the day. It was the weekend and we had no concrete obligations, so we brainstormed what we could do together. Jan suggested going to the nearby lake for a picnic. The idea resonated with everyone, and we started packing our things.
When we arrived at the lake, we spread out blankets and set up our small picnic. The atmosphere was cheerful, and we goofed around, throwing food at each other and enjoying our time together. Force showcased his fruit juggling skills, while Mark, who seemed back to his normal self, unpacked a guitar and started playing a few songs.
The rest of the day flew by, and we cherished every minute of our shared adventure. It was amazing how quickly we had bonded as a group, even though some of us had only become friends recently. The dynamics between us just clicked, and it felt like we had known each other forever.
As the sun began to set, we packed up our things and headed back home.
As we arrived and First escorted me to the door, I already had a sense of what was coming. His smile, usually so confident, seemed a bit uncertain now. I could tell he had something on his mind.
He cleared his throat slightly and said, "Hey, uh, I wanted to ask you something." His gaze met the ground before looking back up at me. "We've experienced a lot together in such a short time, and I feel like you're someone special."
I smiled encouragingly and nodded. "Yes, I think so too, First. You're a great friend."
His smile widened, and he seemed to gain some confidence. "I'm glad to hear that. So, uh, I wanted to ask if you might... you know, if you'd like to be my boyfriend? I mean, we get along really well, and I enjoy the time we spend together."
His words made my heart beat faster, and I felt warmth rising to my cheeks. I knew I was attracted to him, not just as a friend, but in a deeper way.
I smiled gently, albeit a bit pained, and replied, "First, I would really like to be your boyfriend, but... between us, it just wouldn't work. I'm sorry," and with that, I quickly entered my apartment and closed the door. I just can't do this. From the moment we arrived five minutes ago, it felt like a punch in the face. Reality hit me like a ton of bricks. He's the Prince of Thailand, and I'm a bartender. More than friends wouldn't work. I can't cross this line again; it went wrong once before, and it would go wrong again if I had said yes.
