A boy with snow white hair was strapped to a table in the middle of a room. He was panting as a green haired girl dragged the scalpel across the left side of his face. His already burnt arm is torn up more now than it used to be.

She gives him a sinister smile. "You will never find your soulmate again. You will be alone for the rest of your life." She sneered, just as she had everyday since she captured him, and knocked the boy unconscious.

The next thing he knew, a red haired boy with an eyepatch was standing over him.

The boy was frightened by his presence and tried to escape, only to be held down by the restraints on the cold table. The boy struggled to get free, but it was no use. His arm and eye pounded in pain from the struggle, but he couldn't stop. He needed to get away. To get back to his father, his best friend. How many years had it been since he'd seen Yu? Or Mana? How long has he been here?

"Woah! Hold up! You're seriously hurt. I'm Lavi and I'm here to help you. But I need you to calm down. The white haired boy looked at Lavi, eyes full of fear.

"Tch. Stupid Rabbit. Get out of his face. You're freaking him out," A deep, but vaguely familiar voice said from behind Lavi who turned and looked in the direction of the voice.

"Aww... but Yu! I'm just excited that we found him!" The red head whined. He turned back to the white-haired boy. "We've been searching for you for years. I'm so happy we found you, Allen."

The boy looked up at the red head, then behind him. He opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out.

"What's wrong, Al? Here, before anything, let's get you unstrapped to this table so we can get going. Yu, will you cut the straps? It looks like the buckles are too rusted to do anything."

The voice grumbles, but the white-haired boy is set free. He sits up and immediately searches for the male behind Lavi. "Y-Yu..." His voice was hoarse and his throat hurt from just that one word.

The male behind Lavi stiffened and turned back around where he was walking to the back of the room. He walked back over to Allen, knelt down and brushed some stray hairs away from his face. "It's okay, beansprout. We're getting you out of here. I'm sorry I took so long."

Allen's eyes filled with tears and he launched himself at Yu who caught him and lifted him off the bed.

"Let's go, Lavi. We need to get him to Komui and Lenalee. He can't stay here. The witch will come back and she won't stop looking for him."

"Right."

They made their way out of the cottage that had been Allen's prison. The walk to the Lee residence was long, but they couldn't risk being on a train.

About an hour into the walk Yu tried to put Allen down, but the boy clung to the blue-haired man. "Aren, I need you to get on my back. I promise I will never let you go again, okay?" He spoke softly.

Allen looked up at Yu and hesitated for a second, then nodded. He put his feet on the ground, only for his knees to buckle. Yu caught him before he could fall. "Usagi! Help me get him on my back!"

Lavi came over and took Allen from Yu, and helped him onto the raven's back. Allen wrapped his arms around Yu's neck again and buried his face as he grabbed his thighs.

"Alright, let's keep going. We have another hour before we get there," Lavi announced.

The walk continued and eventually, they were at a large white home with a small garden. Lavi knocked on the door and a man with purple hair under a white beret. "Lavi! Kanda! You found him! Good job. Come on in. Sit. I'll get Lenalee."

"Beansprout, I'm going to put you down on the couch, okay?" Allen shook his head frantically, clutching tighter at Kanda. Kanda sighs. "Alright. But I can't stand and hold you the entire time. Do you think you can stand for a few seconds?" Allen hesitates but nods.

Kanda lets go of Allen's legs and he slides down his back to his feet. Kanda quickly sits on the couch and Allen follows him slowly on shaky legs. Allen looks at him and Kanda gives a small nod to let him know it's okay for him to sit.

The silver-eyed boy hesitates, but sits next to the blue-eyed. Kanda wraps his arm around the boy and pulls him across his lap. Allen buries his face into Kanda's neck again and sighs in content.

He raises his head when the door opens again and the purple-haired man comes out with a green-haired girl following behind him. The girl walked right up to Allen who stiffened at the sight of her.

He looked back at Kanda, betrayal clear in his eyes as he tried to escape the man's grip.

"Beansprout, what's wrong? She's not going to hurt you. I promise."

Allen looks back at Kanda and shakes his head. "Y-Yu... lie...me..." He spoke in broken words after not using his voice in years for anything other than screaming.

"Aren, I would never, ever lie to you." Lavi came over and pulled Lenalee away from Allen.

"Hurts..." Allen trailed off, burying his face in Kanda's chest.

"What hurts? Does she look like the witch?" Kanda whispered. Allen nodded against his chest. "Rabbit, get her out of here. Lindsey was the one who did this to him."

"She can't have been! She died..." Lenalee shouted, causing Allen to jump.

"Eight years ago? Yeah, and when did the sprout disappear?"

"Eight years ago..."

"Right. It only makes sense. That's why he's scared of her." Allen looked at Kanda, confused. He had no idea what they were talking about. Kanda looked down at him and explained. "Everyone has an evil side to them. We call them doppelgangers. The witch that hurt you, she was Lenalee's doppelganger." Allen nodded, still a bit confused. He didn't remember having a doppelganger, all he remembered from his childhood was Mana and Yu.
