Inhaler: Ireland's best new band on staying close to their roots and embracing nepo-babyism with style

Now, you see that the thing with Inhaler.
That's why they are so great.
That's why their songs are so mesmerizing.
What band doesn't have one bad tune, for real ?
None.

Inhaler has that tiny special trick, like magicians, that makes you stop what you're doing, that turns off your brain to make you completely focus on them.

Suddenly you don't know where you are except for being in the same room as them.

You just have to look.

You just have to listen.

And when you're out, you're like: «Lord, what just happened.»
«Is it over yet ?»

And suddenly you're looking forward for the next time you'll see them.

Preparing yourself by bleeding out their cds. Playing them like some old records. Exausted and fragile when you put the player on. Ready to break at each note.

Preparing yourself by taking hours glueing strasses and shining letters just to be noticed by one of them.
Just to see them wearing the hat you lovely made.

And suddenly, you're here, just like Adelaïs is here, waiting under the rain, on the venue's step for a concert that won't start before 8pm. That's to say, in 11 hours.

The rain was pounding slightly on her.
Thin and infuriating.
Slow and unpleasant.
Dubious on if it should fall from those greyish clouds to peoples'heads.

Fortunately, she was prepared. She put a raincoat on, long enough to cover her vintage dark blue Levis jeans and her long sleeves blue and green y2k top.
She wanted to buy a Sex Pistols shirt for the occasion, which is important to report.

She wanted them to see that she knew a bit about music, 70's and 80's music.

Unfortunately, the tiny sensible piece of brain she had and which occasionally expressed down to earth ideas told her it was not a so great thought wasting money on a t-shirt of a band she only knew two songs of.

She bought it anyway but decided not to wear it in case someone would ask her questions on the group.

However, this is a story for another time.

Head covered with her green and blue cowboy hat, the girl was hidding her face in her arms, curled up on the venue's step. Waiting as she grew more and more impatient.

It was now a quarter to ten and she was half asleep. Her friend, Cleo, was supposed to be there at 1pm. Once her lecture was over.

You could ask why Adelaïs was not in class on a Thursday morning. Obviously, she thought being front row would be more memorable once old than atteding her Law courses.
Plus, it was just one time.

She was a great student. Seeking the success that will eventually come from all of those year working, waking up at 6 and leaving the library at 11pm.
Her biggest dream was to be on Forbes 30 under 30 list. She wanted to be so rich that the wealthiest man alive would be deadly jealous of her. So angry at her for succeeding that she would be called a "bitch" over nothing.
