Minerva was in her father's old room in the monastery that he had lived for the past few years, she was sat on his stone bed and going through his last belongings on Earth, consisting of research notes, some artefacts he had kept as trinkets, and his bible.
She packed them away and looked at the research notes, seeing some related to the Compass of Desire, observing that some of the artefacts would apparently hold the location of the grave where the clue to the compass was buried.
She looked at the notes and heard the door open as she had her back turned to the door, she looked at the silhouette on the wall and saw it, she didn't need to she their face to know, their silhouette was easily recognisable to her she chuckled to herself before turning and looking the figure in the face.
"Hello Minerva." Y/N said as he took a deep breath, his heart racing just at the sight of her again.
"Y/N Evans." Minerva said with a hint of a laugh in her voice, and a hint of resentment, she put the notes and artefacts away and looked at him. "I always knew someday you would come crawling back to me. Not once have I doubted that, it seems to be inevitable. So, what are you doing here in Scotland?"
"I need some notes that your father collecte-" Before Y/N could finish he was hit across the face with a right hook.
"I've learned to hate you in the past three years." Minerva said with venom in her voice as Y/N rubbed his jaw.
"I never meant to hurt you."
"I was young, I was in love, it was wrong and you knew it! Get out! You've been here long enough I'm surprised you haven't been hit by a bolt of lightning!" McGonagall snapped as the door opened and a monk went to walk in. "I'll handle this, get out."
The monk left.
"I did what I did. You don't have to be happy about it but maybe we can help each other out now." Y/N said as he looked at McGonagall. "I need some of the notes your father collected. Notes about the Compass of Desire, they hint to where it is. You know the ones I mean."
"Yes, I'm aware of them." Minerva said with a sigh.
"Where's Robert?" Y/N asked as McGonagall paused, taking a deep breath. "Where's Robert?"
"Roberts dead." McGonagall said coldly, but somehow despite the coldness in her voice, there was an undertone of regret. Y/N's entire attitude changed instantly.
"Minerva, I'm sorry." Y/N said, his voice now holding complete and total honesty in it, with the pain of the news present. McGonagall shook her head and let out a scoff.
"Somehow, I doubt that very much."
"I can only say I'm sorry so many times-"
"Well say it again anyway." McGonagall said as she turned away.
"I'm sorry."
"Tell me, do you know any other words?" Minerva said harshly.
"It's just some notes Minerva, do you have them. They're important." Y/N said as McGonagall took a moment to collect herself. "I can pay for them."
"I don't want your blasted money, I'm doing well for myself."
"Then what do you want? Minerva?" Y/N said as McGonagall looked at him. "Look, whatever it is, I'll pay, you can have it, but I need those notes Minerva."
"Come back tomorrow morning."
"Why?"
"Because I said so, that's why." McGonagall said as Y/N sighed before turning to leave. "See you tomorrow...Y/N Evans."
"Tomorrow." Y/N muttered to himself before leaving, sighing to himself...
