Backstory: Meraidian was born a human but his abusive human parents tortured and abused him till he was 6 and they threw him in the ocean tied up were he drowned. But a mermaid found him and was able to perform a ritual that turned him into a mermaid bringing him back to life. He was then considered a child of the town because not a single person took care of him the entire town took care of him because everyone loved the child before them so instead of one person having custody the whole town raised him. After becoming a mermaid he had a wonderful happy life underwater and doesn't remember his life above it.
