The sudden sound of Ruby's phone ringing loudly disrupted the peaceful atmosphere in her room. Ruby got up from her comfortable window seat with a groan and placed a bookmark in between the pages of the book she was reading.
Grabbing her phone off her bedside table, Ruby's face lit up when she saw the contact name and immediately answered. "Hey Jazz! It's been a while how are you?" Ruby asked enthusiastically as she sat back down at her window seat and gazed out the window.
She could hear the distant sounds of party music on the other end of the line and smiled. "Are you at a party?" Ruby chuckled. "Ruby," Jasper greeted in a serious tone. "I'm sorry to just call like this and ask for something but I need your help, it's important." Ruby's smile dropped instantly at the worried tone in Jasper's voice. "Of course Jazz, anything for you. What's wrong?"
There was a small pause until Jasper spoke again. "My family and I have a situation here in Forks. It's a newborn army and they're coming for us. We need your help, Ru." Ruby's eyes widened at the mention of a newborn army, she hadn't heard of them being made in years. "I'm on my way right now, text me the address and you can explain everything when I get there."
Ruby had got up from her seat and started packing her bags at vampire speed. "Are you sure?" Jasper asked in a relieved yet unsure tone. "Of course, Jasper. We're family. You know I'd do anything for you. Plus, a fight with a newborn army? It'll be just like old times." Ruby assured with a small smile. Jasper chuckled, "thank you Ruby, it means a lot. I love you."
Ruby packed the last of her things and zipped up her bags. "I love you too Jazz, I'll see you soon." And with that, they said their goodbyes and Ruby was out the door with her bags in her hands, excited to see her best friend after a long time of being apart despite the battle that was looming closer.

Ruby was in Forks by the next morning thanks to her vampire ability of not needing to sleep and her ignorance of the speed limits. After driving for hours on end she was bored and extremely thankful to finally see the welcome to Forks sign.
Checking her phone, she followed the directions to the address Jasper had texted her last night. On the outskirts of Forks, Ruby pulled up at a gorgeous big house with lots of windows that was surrounded by the forest. Stepping out of her car, Ruby admired the beautiful house in front of her with a smile.
As she slammed the car door shut she noticed her best friend exiting the house and her face lit up. "Jasper!" she exclaimed as she ran towards him at vampire speed. He barely had enough time to open his arms before Ruby was jumping in them and hugging him tightly. "I missed you," Ruby murmured into Jasper's shoulder. "I missed you too," Jasper smiled.
The happiness his best friend emitted was contagious, and his own happiness at seeing her after a very long time added on top made him squeeze her even tighter. When they finally pulled away, they were both grinning. "My family's waiting to meet you inside." Jasper said as he jerked his head in the direction of the front door. "Ah the famous Cullen's I've heard so much about. Well we mustn't keep them waiting," Ruby said with a big smile as she looped her arm with Jasper's and they turned in the direction of the front door and walked through it.
