A/N: PLEASE READ! We are finally here with the sequel to Destiny Untold. This was meant to be finished much sooner but during the writing of it I had a chronic pain flare up that lasted 7+ months and disrupted my entire life. At the time I had already begun writing but, once my health started improving again and I picked it back up I ended up scrapping everything I had written. It was no longer the story I wanted to tell. I really hope my wonderful readers will not be disappointed. I switched from a story that revolved around Carter finding his place in the palace and the treachery that came along with it. Carter and Ime were going to have a whole enemies to lovers thing with Ime hating him at the start.

What this turned into was something much different. I wanted to center it on their love story, them building a connection and Ime's struggles as she heals and comes to terms with a body she feels is now failing her, then ultimately coming to accept her new circumstances and how it doesn't change who she is. A lot of it reflects the struggles I myself have with my physical health. There will be intrigue and some action, but it is not the focus. I hope you enjoy it anyways. It was written with love and I hope that comes across.

Destiny Unfailing is completed and will be regularly updated! Without further ado, happy reading!

If there is one thing life will continuously do, it is throw the unexpected your way. The moment you are sure of who you are, what you want, and where you are going, is when the universe decides to teach you just how little you actually know.

The vibrant voice filtering through his phone that bubbles like fizzy soda on a summer day was an integral part of Carter's life shifting, and changing, as he tried to realign his worldview. He went from being a man with a forgotten past to an older brother. Honestly, he can no longer imagine his world without Amara.

"As happy as I am for you Ama, you still owe me for having to put up with your Alpha. I was sure the pining would end once you got together, but then you had to go traipsing across the globe," Carter grumbles with fake exasperation during one of his weekly calls with Amara while she travels with Sina.

"Please, we both know you love him too much to be all that bothered. I'll make sure to call him later and put him in a better mood."

"I really didn't need to hear that," Carter deadpans.

"Not like that! You're being an ass on purpose. I thought I had cured you of that," Amara quips back. A smile is evident in her voice even as she tries to sound annoyed. The easy banter always makes Carter feel oddly warm.

"Cured me of what? I've always been perfe-" he trails off as a letter catches his eye. With the phone held to his left ear Carter had been absentmindedly sorting through the mail that had been dropped off at his desk. It was all standard except for the thick envelope now in his hand with the royal seal standing out like a beacon.

"Carter? Hey! did I lose you? The signal is super spotty around here."

Amara's voice cuts through, bringing his focus back to the present. "No, you're fine. I got distracted for a second. I got a letter delivered today...it has the royal seal."

The statement hangs in the air for a few moments. He and Amara had talked at length about their complicated feelings revolving around their family, and the life they might have had if things had gone differently. More often than not, they both chose to push aside their noble lineage and treat it as inconsequential. Too much was revealed too fast, and they are taking their time to process and really decide what it means to them. If anything.

"I'm not surprised they're reaching out but...remember that whatever it says, it's your choice whether you wanna get involved with all of that at all. You know I'll back you up no matter what. If you want just open it while we're on the phone, if you think it'll help."
