Senior Year of High School: Day 1

I woke up to the beeping sound of my alarm clock. 7:00AM. Blah, I have an hour until I have to leave, might as well curl my hair. I thought as I turned my alarm clock off. It took me a minute to get up, but when I did I took a pair of white jeans, a purple tank top, a see through turquoise button-up shirt, and plain blue ankle socks(Best outfit, right?)  and headed into the bathroom. It just so happened that I had my own miniature bathroom with all my necessities. It's something that I needed. I own ALOT of styling tools. For example, 5 straighteners(One of each size), 3 curlers(One of each size), 2 blow dryers(Each with different heat settings). It may sound like I'm a stuck up preppy girl, right? Yeah, I know what your thinking, but no. I salvage all I can from thrift stores and things on sale at markets from money I've earned. But I doubt you want to hear all about that.

Anyway, I was in the bathroom curling my hair and getting dressed. After that, it was only 7:30, so half an hour until I had to leave for school. I went downstairs and ate breakfast, scrambled eggs and bacon. It was my favorite, especially when my mother makes it. She makes the best of everything, cooking wise.

8:00AM. Time to leave for school. I went back to my room, stuffed everything I could into my neon green bag(So much for best outfit) as I held the rest, slipped on my turquoise, and purple studded high tops, and walked out to my 2004 Ford Mustang.

My car is the thing I cherish the most. Only because I paid for it myself and its my favorite kind of car. I'll have to cry if I ever have to give it up. Anyways! I totes forgot I had to pick up Avery from her house. This is why you can't trust me with a lot of responsibilities at once.

******

Avery's house was a small bungalow compared to mine. Mine was a huge 3-story(Including the basement) townhouse, that had so many rooms. Seriously, it was like a maze when we first moved in. I had to make it into a pattern, since I learn the best in a style of a pattern. Now I remember the house by bed, bed, bath, bed, bed, stairs, bed, bath, room, bath, room. Try saying that 10 times faster. Yeah, its hard.

Avery finally came out of her house and strutted over to my car. She wore a short floral dress, black flats, and a elbow length jean jacket that went halfway down her torso. I could tell she was also wearing her favorite best friend necklace that I got her last year. It's too bad that I can't wear necklaces, (They give me a rash for some reason) so I wear them on special occasions only.  I guess I should wear one today then.

Avery finally made her way into my car. Once she sat down I started speeding to school. "Check the time." I finally say as I stop at a stop sign.

"8:30" Avery says back in her excited voice. Her excited voice can be pretty squeaky sometimes, but it all depends on happy she is. Like today, for instance, she's overly squeaky which means she's ecstatic. She lets it all out in my car and keeps it in when we're in school. She literally can't be seen to excited at school, or she'll be out of the popular crowd. I CANNOT be friends with someone out of the popular crowd(or PC, as most people call it). "Can you believe the Pops List is coming out today? We might actually be in the Top 10 like last year." Pops List is another way of saying Popularity Standards. And Popularity Standards is a complicating way of saying who's more popular than who.

"I know! Like, I've waited all summer for this. I doubt I'll be in the Top 10 though, I haven't been to a party or get together all summer." Its true. Like, I've waited to be invited to a party and what do I get? Nothing!

"I think you will be. Kaitlyn spent her whole summer in Italy, so she can't revoke you anymore than she can revoke me. And she KNOWS that I'm a party freak." Kailtlyn was the party planner of the school. If you wanted a party that was over-the-top and quick, she was the person to go to. I honestly think that's the only reason why she's still in the PC.

"I guess so, Ave." I say lightly. "On a different subject, did you hear we have few new guys from Cali with us this year?" I say with enthusiasm.

"Yeah!" Avery like screamed as she took her small white clutch and took her shiny lip gloss out and put it on her rosy lips. It really suited her deep blue eyes and shiny black hair really well, at least in my opinion. "I've heard they are like the freshest meat out of Pennsylvania."

"I've already called dibs on the tall on. He's a cu-" I was cut off by Avery.

"Don't say cutie. Its such a down drift to my spot in the PC." She had a point.

"We're not even at school yet." I pointed out, although I knew we were just around the corner from it.

"Whatever. Lets just say you NEED a mint." She glared at me.

"Is it really that noticeable?" I embarrassingly asked. "Get the gum out of my glove box and hand me a piece."

Avery rolled her eyes and did as I asked. When I got the Spearmint gum I quickly took it out of its wrapper and stuffed it in my mouth. "BTDubs, school starts in 15 minutes." Avery said.

I ignored her and pulled into the school's parking lot. Everyone was rushing in and surprisingly my spot wasn't taken. So I pulled into it. I quickly opened the door and grabbed my bag from the backseat. "Hurry up." I say to Avery. She scurries out of the car with her zebra striped bag thrown over her shoulder. I just love how most of the bags that people wear are totes irrelevent to their outfits. It made me laugh.

I look up at the front doors as I slide on my sunglasses. To be honest, I didn't think about putting them on in the car. Whatever. I think to myself. I see so many new Freshman and Sophmores that are just itching to be in the PC. It just so happens that most of their dreams will be shattered by the end of the school day.

I see Kaitlyn by the front doors, gesturing Avery and I over by her. Avery makes more of an attempt to get to her then I do. Once I get to Kaitlyn she starts talking, "Great! How're my two favorite girls today?"
