After riding around all evening I couldn't put it off any longer, I had to go back home. I stopped to get some snacks first before riding back. When I walked in wanda and Nat were talking and laughing over coffee. "Hey y/n! Dinner is in the oven if you are hungry, it should be another ten minutes or so." wanda smiled, I thanked her before sitting down and pulling out my snacks."Hey!" I yelled to Natasha who had snatched them from me. "Eat your dinner first." Natasha smirked, tucking them next to her. "No. Give them back." I huffed trying to grab them but she caught my arm.
"Nat get off me." I looked at wanda who seemed like she was going to cry. "can you two please just stop fighting for five minutes? Nat let them go it's fine. They can eat chips if they want they're old enough to make decisions for themself." Nat let me go with a sigh and handed them back. "you better not fill yourself up on those."
Wanda entered the dining room, carrying a carrying the plates for tonight's dinner with her magic. Y/n seemed oblivious to the whole thing, they sat on the couch, engrossed in a bag of their favorite snacks.
"Y/n, dinner's ready. Come join us." I shake my head at her. "no thanks Wanda, I'm good." Wanda's eyes narrowed, a slight frown forming on her face. She had spent hours in the kitchen, making one of your favourite meals in the hope that she could bring the household closer together.
Natasha, who had been silently observing the situation, finally spoke up. "Y/n, Wanda went through so much trouble to cook this meal for us. She made it especially for you to make up for everything. The least you could do is appreciate the effort she put in and join us for dinner."
"Sorry, but I want snacks for my dinner tonight. I'm not really in the mood for anything else." Wanda's frustration grew, she had envisioned a peaceful, friendly dinner, a rare moment where they could all finally learn to get along.
"Y/n, this isn't just about the food. It's about the time and energy I put into planning this meal, hoping we could share a nice evening together and eat a meal at the table. I even made your favourite so you would be willing to join."
"Look, I didn't ask you to go through all this trouble, Wanda. I appreciate it, I really do, but I don't want to. I don't want to have dinner with you guys." Nat goes quiet and wanda gives her a questioning look.
"Nat, what's wrong?" Wanda asked, noticing the frown on Natasha's face.
Natasha frowned, her voice laced with frustration. "It's y/n. They're just eating snacks instead of the dinner you cooked for us."Wanda sighed, trying to keep the peaceful atmosphere. "It's alright, Nat. Sometimes people have different preferences or aren't hungry." Natasha's eyes widened, the anger in her tone becoming more apparent. "Different preferences? This is your food, Wanda. You put so much effort into it. How can they not eat it?"
Y/n sheepishly looked up from their half-eaten bag of chips. "I'm sorry, I just didn't feel like having dinner with you guys."
Wanda's face fell, her voice trembling with hurt. "Y/n, I cooked this meal for all of us to enjoy. It's hurtful that you don't want to even try it." Y/n sighed, "I'm sorry wanda Im just not in the mood today. I'll make it up to you."
Wanda's anger began to dissipate, replaced by a hint of sadness. She had only wanted to create a warm and meaningful memory with her family, but it seemed they were not on the same page. Y/n's words did little to alleviate her disappointment." It's not about making it up to me, Y/n. I just wanted us to have a nice night together for a change. I'll set aside some leftovers for you, just in case you change your mind."
Taking a deep breath, Natasha got up from her seat approached them. "Seriously, y/n? You're just going to sit there eating junk while Wanda made us this beautiful dinner? You can't give her one nice thing after all she's done for you? You're so selfish."
"First of all, you're the one who takes everything around here things were perfect before you showed up. Also don't forget who's room you stole earlier. You're the reason I don't want to do the stupid dinner in the first place. so if anyone needs to stop being selfish it's you."
Wanda stood up. "y/n you're way out of line. Natasha didn't steal anything I gave it to her. It's her home too now and youre just gonna have to get used to it." I huffed walking off to my new room, natasha caught my arm.
Natasha's frustration turned into anger, her voice escalating in volume. "go sit down and eat your dinner. Don't walk out on your sister when she's trying to make up with you."
Get off Natasha! I don't feel comfortable eating with you two right now." Wanda's heart sank as y/n's words echoed in the room. She felt a pang of hurt and wanted to say something but didn't want to ignite the growing fire between you. Her eyes filled up with tears as she watched you both start yelling at each other.
At the sound of your sister breaking down you and natasha stopped yelling and glanced at each other, the anger subsiding momentarily. "wanda? Are you okay?" you walked over and pulled her into a hug.
"you're both the most important people in my life, I hate seeing you argue and getting stuck in the middle of it. I just wanted one peaceful night." she cried even harder after she made it through the last sentence, you and natasha shared a knowing look, realizing the pain you were causing to the person you both cared about.
"were sorry Wanda. We didn't mean to upset you. We will try and get along better. We can have a movie night or something, do you want that?" Wanda, wiping away her tears, nodded. Natasha agreed. "no more fighting tonight."
"come on let's eat." you smiled breaking the hug and sitting down at the table with a smile.
Hope you enjoyed,
See ya!
