'' ...mud...? '' i murmured, voice shaking.
possibilities flashed through my head.
he nodded.
he lifted his head to the sky.
the sun was setting, casting orange light across the marsh, filtering through the trees.
stars were faintly glowing, but only if you looked hard enough.
''...star...?'' my mew was reduced to a sob.
the cat who had raised me from a kit, cared for me like a big brother even though i wasn't kin.
his voice, it was gone.
most of his ears and fur were too, he was attacked.
