Forty Five minutes later, Emily and Rachel arrived in Leeds, parking a few meters away from the small apartment block that Lindsay had scribbled down as her address in her letter to Emily. They sat in silence for a few minutes. Emily suddenly felt nervous.

What if Lindsay turned her away?

What if she didn't want to see her?

"Are you ok?" Rachel asked, noticing the worry flashing through her eyes

"I'm scared" Emily admitted

"It's ok, Emily. We don't have to do this if you don't want to, we can wait and come back another time when you feel ready" Rachel reassured

Emily shook her head. One thing she was certain of was that she wanted to see her sister.

"Would you rather I wait in the car whilst you go in? Let you have some time together?" Rachel offered

"No, it's ok, I want you there. Lindsay really liked you, she'll be happy to see you" Emily smiled

Rachel smiled back

"Alright, I'll get Olivia out of the car and then we'll go, ok?"

Emily nodded, climbing out of the car herself.

Once Rachel had gotten Olivia out and put her in her carrier, they headed over to the small apartment building. Emily was concerned, it wasn't the nicest of areas she'd seen, and she lived in Rochdale! It was an old and rundown apartment building.

How could Lindsay want to live here?

They stepped inside, the smell of stale cigarettes making them gag.

How was Lindsay supposed to be able to get back on her feet in a rundown place like this?

That was a question on both Emily's and Rachel's mind.

They walked along the corridor, finally finding apartment 52A. This was it. Emily took a deep breath; her anxiety was increasing by the second.

"Are you ready?" Rachel asked after a few moments

Emily nodded, knocking on the door, praying that Lindsay would answer.

Seconds later, they heard footsteps on the other side of the door, the lock clicking open. Lindsay appeared, her eyes widening in surprise when she saw Emily and Rachel stood there.

Emily's eyes lit up in relief, she threw herself at Lindsay, wrapping her arms around her tightly. After two years, she was finally able to hug her sister. It was an incredible feeling.

Lindsay instinctively wrapped her arms around her little sister as she sobbed. She had missed Emily so much. Even though she was surprised she had turned up on her doorstep, it didn't matter, she wasn't about to slam the door in her face and turn her back.

"Em? What are you doing here?" Lindsay asked, pulling apart from her, wiping away her sister's tears

"I had to see you, Lindsay" Emily sighed

Lindsay didn't know what to say, so she just smiled. As she looked at her sister, she realised that she wasn't so little anymore. She was taller, her blue eyes more striking than ever. Her hair was thick and black, hanging in curls by her shoulders. She was all grown up.

Lindsay's attention turned to Miss Mason. The teacher, who had stood by her in her darkest moment, supported her through everything. She smiled at Lindsay.

"Aren't you going to let us in?" Emily asked, breaking the silence

Lindsay rolled her eyes sarcastically, standing aside so Emily could come in. Rachel followed her. Lindsay smiled at her.
