Alex + Alexandra

Soon as Alex sat down, it's as if life wanted to torture him some more, pulling his attention toward a couple tightly hugging and kissing. Pulling his gaze away from them, it accidentally falls on another couple around his age, holding hands and walking toward the ice cream truck. Every where he turns, he sees a couple. Eventually, he starts staring into the distance. His mind wonders ahead again.
Her laughter fills his mind, making his heart ache. The way her dresses would flow with the wind when walking in front of him on park dates. The way her eyes would lit up at her favorite shops at the mall. Her warmth when cuddling in movie nights. If only him and Alexandra were still toget-
"Excuse me, sir. can I go on this please" some random kid breaking his train of thought.
"I- uh... no... I mean, yeah..." He was caught off guard and struggled to speak for a bit. "Yeah... you could have it"
He got up from the sing and began to walk away, feeling embarrassed. A kid made him feel embarrassed. Alexandra would always tease for being an introvert and she was the extravert. Maybe this moment proves it. Maybe that's why she left him. He's always felt the opposite was true. She was the shy one.
He caught a glimpse of himself on a car's windshield. Maybe she left because he's just not attractive enough for her. Or maybe she got tired of the gap on his teeth. Their argument from that day still on his mind, trying to make sense of it all. How'd it started, what was said. What did he do wrong.He lays on his back on the cool grass. Lets the tears flow like rivers down his cheeks. Letting all his feelings be drained out of him.
'Alex + Alexandra' was removed from her bio before she blocked him.  He felt like he needed closure. He knew her friends would see it as harassment if he kept trying to contact her, so he gave up.
He sat up, took a deep breath and wiped his tears. "This a hole in my heart I'll have to live with. But for now, life goes on" he tried to reassure himself. He got up and brushed himself off. He has to start ridding his flat of anything that reminds him of her. He looks around at the park one last time, spotting more couples. Trying to not let that bother him, he takes one deep breath and walks back. Got to get ready to start a new life single.
