Rosalie watched as her mother rushed from paperwork to phone call and back to paperwork again.

"Rose dear. Go check on Dustin." She said before going back to her paperwork.

Rosalie got up and walked to where Dustin Michaels was being held. He was, in fact, insane. He scribbled words all over his skin, walls, and clothing with a red marker. Words that never made sense, but were beautiful all the same. Poetry.

She opened the door to his room after knocking. She smiled at Dustin, who was staring into space. She sat down in one of the chairs and looked at him. He seemed fine to her. Same wild look in his eyes. His gorgeous silver eyes. Rosalie found herself getting lost in them.

When Dustin moved she was brought back to reality. He quickly and swiftly grabbed his marker and pressed it into the wall. Words flowed from its tip and he wrote a sentence.

"Look past the skin and into the soul, my love." She read.

The words were sweet and she found herself smiling. She traced them with her fingers then looked at Dustin, who was looking at her emotionless.

Rosalie contemplated the meaning of the words. They were actually pretty sensible, unlike the other things he wrote, like he was actually talking to someone this time.

She grabbed one of his markers and circled the sentence. Underneath it she wrote words of her own. "Looking past the skin of a supposed demon into the soul of an angel. Only misunderstood by the appearance they were given."

She watched as Dustin glanced at her words. A faint spark flashed in his eyes. She smiled, feeling satisfied with that reaction.

Rosalie knew he was dangerous, otherwise he wouldn't be here. But never once has he done anything to even try and hurt her. That's why her mother sent her here. He hated everyone else. He seemed so gentle when she was around. She couldn't believe he had nearly killed someone before.

Dustin grabbed his marker and wrote his reply. "Then you see the real me."

Those words took Rosalie back a little bit. He never actually communicated to anyone before. She grabbed the marker again and wrote; "I do, Dustin."

"Rosalie. Time to go, Hun." Rosalie's mom said from the doorway.

Rosalie glanced at her mom then glanced at Dustin. She offered him a smile before walking out with her mom.

Once they were in the hallway her mom squealed like a little girl. "Rose. You're really getting through to him. This is such a breakthrough." She smiled.

Rosalie rolled her eyes and kept walking, but a small smile tugged at the corners of her lips.

"I think he likes you Rosalie. I mean, I would never let him date you but still..." Her mother trailed off as the kelt walking.

Once they were outside Rosalie stood on the maxi-tab. The maxi-tab was a teleportation device that took you anywhere within the city limits.

Upon arriving at their house Rosalie's phone buzzed. She pulled it out and glanced at the text.

"Hey rose!! Remember our date tonight!" The message read. It was from her best friend Laken. She was so excited to go to a little café. The same one they've been going to for four years and Rosalie couldn't argue. She loved that place just as much as Laken did.

Rosalie had tuned out her mother's rambling about Dustin and bit her lip as she replied.

"I would never." She sent before cramming the device back into her pocket. Though she was tired, she would never miss out on going somewhere with her best friend. Ever.

"I can't believe it. He actually talked to you! Well not really, but in a way." Her mother still rambled on.

Rosalie shook her head and grinned at her mother. She was so weird, but she loved her to the moon and back.
