A soft humming filled the dead silence that draped over the small two bedroom apartment. In the kitchen, a young man with long, silky black hair was gently chopping up vegetables, each movement careful and precise. He was suddenly startled by a loud groan coming from the living room, causing his knife to slip and nearly graze his fingers. His eyes shot up to glare at the source. He eyed up and down the tall and slender white haired man who was splayed out on the floor, his mouth hanging open and letting out the most obnoxious noises.

"Satoru...I can't focus if you keep acting up like that."

"But Suguruuuu...I'm so hungry! You've been cooped up in the kitchen for two hours just cutting veggies! Please let me do SOMETHING," Satoru whined as he rolled over onto his stomach, propping his cheeks in his hands. He batted his lashes at Suguru, hoping that it would have some kind of effect on him.

Suguru let out a deep sigh. "I told you already. I wanted to cook today since you always do it. I just don't want to mess up..." He averted his eyes, not letting Satoru sway him with his pretty, fluttering lashes. There was a slight flush on the tips of his ears, partially from being embarrassed by the fact that he can't cook for shit, and partially by the beautiful man on the ground throwing a tantrum.

"Come on...at this rate I'm gonna end up eating the carpet before I get to your food." Satoru hopped up to move to the kitchen counter, where he again propped his cheeks in his hands and stared at Suguru and his work space.

Suguru felt his eye twitch. Is he that hungry? He pressed his lips into a line and proceeded to chop up the veggies some more, this time with Satoru watching with immense focus. Satoru peeked up at Suguru, observing that scrunched yet concentrated scowl. His eyes traced Suguru's every facial feature, from his eyebrows to the edge of his lips, to his hair tucked behind his ears. After a moment, he realized what he was doing and pushed himself away from the counter and turned away, his face heated with embarrassment.

The two of them have been best friends since high school and even ended up attending the same college and living together for the past two years. They were inseparable. Even though their majors were different, they would try their best to line up their schedules so that they would have time to just hang out or study together. Anyone could misunderstand and think these two were an item, seeing as how they spend so much time with each other.

As he watched Suguru chop up the vegetables, he couldn't help but admire the way his friend's hands moved with such precision. Satoru knew he was in trouble - he could feel his heart racing and his face flushing with each passing moment. He loudly and obnoxiously cleared his throat, startling Suguru once again.

"This is ridiculous. Go sit and your room and be quiet," Suguru snapped, pointing his knife at Satoru's room. Satoru dragged his feet and threw himself on his bed, occasionally glancing out the door to take a peek at Suguru to see if he was finished.

After another hour passed, Suguru finally finished cooking everything and laid it all out on the table. They sat across from each other, Suguru anxiously waiting for Satoru to take the first bite. As Satoru bit down, his face scrunched, fully concentrating on the flavors and textures of the dish. He suddenly froze up and fell out of his chair, hitting the floor with a hard thud. Suguru felt his blood run cold and jumped up, rushing over to Satoru's side.

"Holy shit I killed him!" Suguru shook him relentlessly and slapped his face around, his eyes welling up with tears. "I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry..."

Just then, he heard a soft pfft, and he looked down to see his friend biting down on his lip to stifle his laughter. Suguru puffed out a short breath and smacked Satoru on the chest, making him choke on his own spit. They both returned to their seats, Suguru wiping his eyes and refusing to look at Satoru.
