His glare was piercing as he looked down at her, her stomach twisted as she choked back tears.

"Not Saki, not Kokona, me. It's always been me, I was with you when you were nothing but a disheveled mess, a broken mess and that needed to put together." Ayato sounded like he was almost pleading as he blinked down at her, his hand placed on her thigh. "You can say you hate me but your mind knows who to go to when your at your worst, your body responds to me. I am that grain of hope that motivated you to carry on. I can list all the things I've done for you: I got a cat because I knew you liked them, I listen to the music you like, I watched you to make sure you were safe, I defended you from Oko, I beat those delinquents to a plump for you and I'd do it all again just to show you how much I care. I love you so much, more than you could know."

"Don't lie to me! I trusted you once -never again. You made Kokona kill her, kill Musume!
It was all you, it always has been!" Y/n replies with a sensation of her throat slowly tightening as she recollects her friend. She remembers seeing it on the news, the day an ocean came crashing down on her and everything went horrible. "Oh, my. My poor Y/n." He whispers, talking down to her like an clueless child who doesn't know any better.

"That never happened, it's kokona lying to you. Don't you see? Who am I kidding? Of course you can't tell that she's playing you like a fiddle, even now. It's a good thing she was arrested and your sister got justice. It's truly a shame but she's could of hurt you. Clearly, she's a violent, deranged and aggressive lunatic." Ayato tells, Y/n calmly as he strokes her hair. "I had to call the police out of fear for your safety knowing she would of turned on you to kill you. I couldn't of let that happen."

"Kokona must have been planning that for a long time, it make sense as your father is the person her dad owes money to. It's elementary that she'd pick either you or Musume. She then ruthlessly killed your sister, in cold blood and there's no doubt that you were next. Do you know how she did it? With a baseball bat, over and over and over again, till she was an unrecognizable mess. That's the person your protecting, Y/n." Ayato emphasized on the second personal pronouns, like 'your' to really jab his words into her, that she's at fault for ever thinking of defending someone like Kokona.

"You say Kokona's the one I should of been scared about but what about you? You drugged me! Who knows what you could of done?!" Y/n questioned him, with the occasional tear drops fall down her cheek as she harshly stared at him.

"Why would you convince yourself that I would ever hurt you? You're the one I want to see when I wake up, hear when I wake up, you're the reason blood flows through my body and I only breathe to breathe in your air!" He says, absolutely serious about ever word and syllable that left his mouth."I saw how tired you were, bags under your eyes and how you could barely function. You couldn't sleep and I knew your father wasn't helping you at all nor was your sister. I just gave you a nudge in the right direction."

"You can say any excuse or lie you want but it doesn't change the fact that you kidnapped me!"

"I did it because I love you! You can't function without me, Kokona has made you blind, messed up your mind ; I can set you free!" Ayato said, taking her hand in his and forcing her to intertwine it with his.

"That day in the basement, what I spoke was the truth! You are my purpose, my goal! The only light in my dull life: I eat, sleep and get up to protect you! Your home life has been far from great, your father and sister have never ever cared about you. I have!" Ayato exclaims, pointing to himself as he spoke, she hates that there is some truth to his words about her family. They have never seen her as apart of the family, she's always walked down her own path, a path to her friends and now she's not even sure about them anymore. "Don't you see? They have been dragging you down all these years. You went to Akademi for them, you were accepted into the school you always wanted to go to and you chose them. Everything you've ever done is for them, like: stopping yourself from liking Amao so Saik could have him, giving Kokona money to pay off a debt for her father to your father and Amao left you in the dust immediately!"
