The second semester lessons were becoming progressively hard, and especially for Tom's nuisance, all practical. Science and Chemistry of Elements was a nightmare, mostly because Bachisio did not know what he was teaching. During some lessons of the morning, he even managed to set

himself to fire, during one of his demonstrations. But now, Tom's biggest problem was to keep alive during Ivor lessons, where things like theory were not contemplated. Ivor had started armed combat: combat techniques with the auxiliary help of weapons. Most of the fires, who were already trained home, were able to use daggers and swords. A lot of earths and waters were in difficulty with the tasks, but still able to control at least one element. For Tom this was not the case. Electra and Rose would always pair up with him, to avoid further problems for their friend. However, it was obvious to everyone Tom was not doing great. Even Ario, who had an incredible predisposition for disasters, was doing better than him.

Electra had discovered that she was not as comfortable with the dagger as she was with the sword, and she particularly liked to use a throwing stick, with which she created whirlpools of fire and air. Once she had discovered that she could use air, she used it as much as possible to magnify the fire she created, generating fiery vortices that soared in power, destroying whatever was nearby. She wasn't the only one, however, because after wrestling with Aaron during one of Ivor's requested demonstrations,

Electra noticed that he could do the same. To her open mouth in astonishment, he had responded with a single smile. When Ivor firstly had saw Electra using a stick to create an air vortex, which had sent Ario flying out of the ring, he was unable to contain his joy. Since the day he had made a habit of greeting Electra all over the corridors <<Electra dear how are you?>>, <<Electra dear try the scones, they are delicious>> shamelessly ignoring Tom, Rose or whoever was near her.Electra had no time to rejoice in her combat achievements because Dom had not issued her a Medical Certificate to play in the next Elemton match, so Electra was out of the team for the next few weeks. When she had returned to the fire dormitory Almetta could not get over it:

<< What do you mean you can't play? >>

<< He gave me two months off after the Ifrit attack>>

<< It is not possible; I will talk about it with Ivor>>

But it had not helped much. Ivor had refused to let her take the field, saying that Electra should focus on

her recovery and that Almetta, who had already broken the rules, should stick to protocol. A sentence that Almetta, who had been encouraged for years by Ivor to "win or cheat", could hardly believe. Two hours later after she heard the news, Hayes was still trying to console her in the dormitories of Fires.

<< Come on, it's not the end of the world >> he said << You can always play next year >>. Tom and Rose had decided to leave them in the hands of Hayes, who was the most convincing of the three.

<< Do you realize that she is preventing me from playing because of a scratch? >> said Electra, with red eyes and a slightly hysterical voice. The curious fires that had approached had only to be met with dirty looks from Hayes.

<< Come on, don't be so dramatic. If you want, let's make the application for the Colosseumancers tournaments. Forget Elemton: maybe we'll win the cup. >> and this had partially distracted Electra: << Which cup? >>. Hayes, who had happily satisfied his main objective, namely stopping Electra from tearing down the Fires dormitory, started explaining:<< You

know all the elementals compete each year for the Arena tournament, the best elements win. It is a fighting competition. My dad participated every year>>
