"Death is but the doorway to new life. We live today, we shall live again. In many forms shall we return."
Monsters. Mythologies. The supernatural. For as long as I can remember, these things have always fascinated me. When I read all these stories, these tales, these legends, I couldn't believe that it was all just out of human imagination. There had to be a grain of truth... A hidden truth, which we refused to believe. For what? By ignorance... or by fear?
All my childhood and teen years, I spent them becoming more and more passionate about the paranormal, supernatural creatures and the mythologies of different ancient civilizations. This passion earned me a lot of teasing from other children and school was not a happy time in my life. As for the adults, they didn't take me seriously, telling me that I should stop believing in things that don't exist. But despite insults, bullying and harassment that even led to a nervous breakdown while I was in high school, I refused to give up my beliefs. This world was not as ordinary and normal as they tried to make us believe. There were forces beyond our control, ancient and powerful, for whom time and death have no meaning, biding their time to come out of the darkness and make themselves known in broad daylight. And that day, I will be present to see it with my own eyes. I had to see, I had to understand, I could not leave this life without knowing the true face of this world in which I have lived for years now but which I still cannot understand.
Today, it's been five years since I started my writing career, and my first two books have met with mixed success, but I don't lose hope. And you want to know the funniest part of it all? The next day after writing these lines, I was to receive a call of vital importance. I didn't know it yet, but it was from that moment that my life changed, to a point that even I was far from imagining and that was going to lead me to discover a new facet of our world, and that finally, the boundaries between the real and the supernatural are much thinner than we imagine. But above all, this first adventure would lead me to meet a unique soul and the birth of an equally unique bond.
This is our tale... The tale of a man and a monster.
