It was the next day after (y/n) duel against Shu and won with barely any much effort, as always. But during the duel, (y/n) summon a fusion monster with two fusion monsters. Now both Shu and (y/n) were at the port park as they were there to train so they could make Shu a stronger duelist.

(y/n): alright Shu, are you ready!

He said as he had a coach whilst on.

Shu: um, no.

He said in a plan voiced with no emotion.

(y/n): what! Why!

Shu: Well, it's just that, I don't have a card that requires fusion monsters as materials. So what's the point?

(y/n): oh come on shu! Don't be like that, sooner or later you will and when you do, you'll need to be ready.

Shu: come on zarc! There isn't a gem-knight fusion card that requires fusion cards, trust me, i looked it up.

(y/n): well you never know.

'

Shu: Are you sure? Because it's not like I can make one magically appear, I don't have the power to make brand new cards on the spot.

(y/n): well I can do it.

Shu: What was that?

(y/n): nothing! Look Shu, at least train with me just so you can at least understand your deck more.

Shu: fine.

(y/n): great! First thing first Shu, you must read your cards.

Shu: Read my cards? I really never thought about that.

(y/n): don't worry, many duelists make that same mistake.

Shu: But can we at least skip this one, that may take forever.

(y/n): well to become a better duelist, you must understand your cards and in order to do that, you must first read what they do, because when you understand your cards, you can make all sorts of combos.

Shu: But what about my FTK combo? It's really good.

(y/n): that may be true but remember Shu, one good combo isn't going to be the reason why you always win your duel. You alway have to be ready with more combos because what will you do when someone stops that combo?

He said as he referees their duel with each other.

Shu: Come on Zarc, you only stopped it because you had a card ready for it, not everyone is going to stop it.

(y/n): that is true, but that doesn't mean you should only have just one good combo, you need more than one. Besides, have you seen how many people have handtraps now and then? There's going to be a lot of people who can stop your combo.

Shu: yeah i guess you're right, fine i'll read my card so i can learn other combos.

(y/n): great! Let's finally get started as we have a long day today of training, and reading.

Shu just sighed knowing it was going to be a very, very long day.

Time skip

All whole day has passed of reading Shu's card, well that how Shu felt. In reality, only half an hour of reading has passed. Shu was bored from it all because of how long it took. What's worse is that (y/n) also tried to get him to remember a whole bunch of combos that he could but most of the time, just like most duelists. He can only remember half of a combo and maybe one simple combo.

(y/n): So Shu, did you get all of that?

Shu: only a little.

He said in embarrassment as he didn't remember much after all that time they had explained together. He just sighs knowing this might not be easy.
