Tommys POV 3rd person
He sat outside, pressing the ice pack to his swollen eye. His lip was stinging and his nose was blocked with a tissue, blood soaking through it. His eyes flicked to the boy leaving the office with his parents. He had similar injuries and sent him a dirty look. Tommy winced, if he wasn't expelled, he was gonna get beaten up so bad later.
Wilbur came running down the corridor. He was still in his uniform. If looks could kill, tommy would've been 6- No, 10 feet under. He was slowly coming to the realisation that he, was in deep shit.
They were both called into the office.
"Mr soot, as you know, this school has a strict 'No violence' policy. Today, your son decided to ignore this policy when he punched another student in the face." The principal said matter of factly. Tommy chose to ignore Wilburs flinch when the word 'son' was used instead of brother.
Wilbur looked at tommy questioningly. Since he was a police officer, he knew Tommy would never have done something like that unprovoked.
"Well, there has to be a reason. My brother would never do anything like that without reason. I've made sure of that."
"The school has a 'no bullying' policy, but the teachers don't do jackshit when they see a 8th grader beating up a 6th grader. Someone had to do something." Tommy muttered.
Wilbur turned back to the principal.
"You heard what he said, he was defending another kid, why is he being punished?"
"Because, mr soot. This isn't the first infraction your son has had. In fact it's his third."
"I know that. But both of those times were practically identical. It isn't right for you to punish a kid who was trying to do the right thing."
"Look, mr soot. Your son is a very intelligent student, and we believe that with the right nourishment he could be one of the highest scoring students in the school, maybe even the state. But he needs to work on his behaviour and attitude."
"Attitude?"
"Unfortunately, mister simons has been acting up in some of his classes. Talking back to teachers, disrupting class, frequently skipping class. It is for these reasons that I'm issuing the following punishment: mister simons is suspended for a week. He will be given work to do over the following week and he will be expected to hand everything in on time."
"Okay Miss Harris. Can we leave now? I have a shift to get back to."
"Of course sir, thank you for your time."
They both stood up and left.
When they made it to Wilburs car, tommy sat silently in the passenger's seat.
"Which kid did you punch?" Wilbur asked after a few minutes.
"Jared. Jared Whittle."
"Fucking knew it. You need to stop getting into fights with that little shit okay? I know he's a twat but I'm not having my little brother getting expelled because he got into fights. You've got the potential to be great. So be great. And stop making stupid decisions, albeit good ones."
They pulled into the police station car park.
"We're not going home?"
"Hell no, I've still got a shift to finish. You can stay in the break room and maybe work on some of that homework you've had piling up in your bag for the last two weeks."

Tommys POV
It had been two weeks after the incident in Carsely.
Phil was mega-pissed when he found out just how long this little investigation Tommy forced Tubbo into had been going on.
The words irresponsible and unprofessional were thrown around at least three times. Tommy took it all without a word, after all, he couldn't argue against the truth.
"I mean what would possess you to do such a thing! Let alone bring your friend into it!" Tommy sunk further into his chair.
"Do you know how lucky you are to be in this position? I understand you think you're talents are being wasted, and believe me, I know just how good you can be but you can't take advantage of my trust!" Phil was pacing in front of him.
"You or Tubbo could've been seriously hurt because of your irresponsible behaviour, and now both of you will need to talk to someone." He sighed, rubbing his temples.
"Tom, I care about you. More than I probably should. I want you to know that everything I do, every decision I make is in your best interest. That is why this decision is so difficult. Tom, from now on you are on mandatory leave, indefinitely." Phil said finally.
Tommy didn't fight. He didn't argue. All he said was "okay." And that was it.

Wilburs POV
Wilbur had tried to talk to him when he left the room, but it was pointless. He had spent the whole time waiting in a chair outside phils office. He knew how bad the situation was and he couldn't help but feel guilty. He was too injured to notice his brothers mental state deteriorate. He couldn't be there for him when he needed it. And now that he was thinking about it, maybe taking tommy along with him to the warehouse was a mistake. He shouldn't have made Tommy watch him get shot. He shouldn't have let him shoot the gun. Hell, he shouldn't have taken the gun in the first place. A long line of stupid decisions leading up to the main event.

Tommys POV
This might've been his stupidest decision yet.
Sure, there were quite a few competitors, but this one seemed to top them all.
He should go. He should really, really go.
But he couldn't. Something about this house was still off.
He pulled the white gloves on. He was trespassing on a crime scene. Can't leave any evidence of him being there.
The car door shut behind him. He needed to get here somehow. And he did have a driving license. Just not a car. That's where Jack came in. One of his lesser known associates. Who owed him a favour. Or, in this case, a car.
His grip on the flashlight tightened as he walked up the front path. He pulled out his phone, clicking on tubbos contact. Of course he didn't like bringing Toby into these things, but come on. He wasn't that stupid. He wasn't just going to disappear in the night and not inform anyone of his whereabouts.
It was around 2 in the morning. As he sent the first message.
Bee boy 🐝
Hey Toby
I'm at the creepy house
If you don't hear from me in like
two hours, call the police. Or Wilbur
He pocketed the phone as he got to the front door. He opened it tentatively and stepped inside.
