"I don't blame you for not doing the whole maid-of-honor and bridesmaids deal." Trudy sits down beside you on the bed as Da'mik takes to climbing all over her. "I never cared for a huge wedding. I know Norms been contemplating it... But just like you - I'm in no hurry, either."

As you set your comb down and turn around to face her, a mix of surprise and curiosity fills your face. "Wait.." you say with shock, your voice cracking with the words. "Norm proposed? Tell me everything!"

She faintly smiles and her eyes start to twinkle a bit with the thought. "I wouldn't call it so much a proposal as a.. suggestion? I mean, I guess you could say that. I've been.. thinking on it. It doesn't hurt to keep our human traditions going even though we're all part of this world now."

You overlook her for a moment as she goes on — only to decide on pinching her arm, and she swats your hand down a bit roughly when she realizes what you're trying to do.
"Hey, what the hell?"

"You.. seriously mean.. he.. proposed.. and you didn't think to tell me? Or Grace? Or.. anyone??"

"I know." She sighs. "-I'm sorry, we had a whole war going on at the time, I didn't-"

"He proposed during the war?" You interrupt, rather surprised.

"It was the night before the attack, actually." She clarifies. "He told me if we made it out alive.. he wanted to."

"Are you kidding? That was so long ago! Why haven't you done anything yet? Has he just been waiting around for an answer?"

"Hey. I could ask you the same, you know. Jake's been on your ass about this for a while."

"I, well—-- okay. You know why I hesitated, though. I'd been through it before. I wasn't wanting to rush back into it with how busy the kids have kept us, even though I wanted to. But that isn't the point - what's your reason?"

She reaches over for Da'mik, and sets him on her lap as he fusses with a toy in his hands. "I wanted to make sure he really wanted this."
She admits.
"I was ... worried it was pre-war jitters or something.. I know he was afraid after what you told him."

You can't help but frown, and place a hand on top of hers. "And? It wasn't. My own fears didn't come true this time, and he still wants to, doesn't he?"

"Of course he does." She answers. "He never lets me forget. We're not like you and Jake, we don't have braids to bond with and make it permanent."
Trudy watches as you eye over her entire body, your gaze shifting ever so often.
"What? Did I say something?"

"Picturing you as an Avatar."

She tsks and rolls her eyes. "I wouldn't mind it, but you sound like a perv with the way you say it."

You seem lost in thought as you stand and move over to pick up Tommika.

"What?" Trudy asks. "I know that look."

"Just.. an idea." You suggest. "What if.. I don't know, what if we did a sort of.. double wedding?" Your daughter tucks herself in and scrunches up onto your chest, perfectly content with the way you wrap her around you.

"A double wedding? In two days?" She sounds rather unsure about that. "I don't know."

"Oh, come on. It would be lovely! We could fix up the cafeteria? Have it there? Maybe do something outside?"

"What about.. attire? I don't want something too frilly, but I doubt we have dresses here at hells gate."

"Do what I did last time." You suggest. "After all those years I spent with Norm - I know how to sew. I can make them. They'll be easy - simple. Casual."
