Lies behind us

part 6 -monday-

Vic

Yesterday after I came back from Julia's, my friends asked me to join them to go watch a streetbasketball game on the otherside of the town. I agreed and now here I am, laying in bed with a headache pounding in my head after a long night, few drinks and very few hours of sleep.

My alarm had gone off over ten minutes ago but I hadn't bothered to get up yet. Today me and Julia were supposed to start the history project after school but I wasn't too exited for that becuse of the state I was in.

I forced myself up from the bed and made my way to the bathroom. The look that greeted me in the mirror wasn't too pretty, my hair was a mess since I hadn't washed it in few days, the dark circles under my eyes weren't helpping at all and the scar that I had on my jaw had decided to really show off today. I got it a couple months back in a fight but so far I just tried my best to cover it some makeup.

After I was ready I made my way downstairs to the kitchen. Dad had already left for work but had left some scrambled eggs in the fridge.

I took the plate of leftovers and made myself enough room on the table to eat. The house was always a mess since both me and my dad spent most of our time out of the house.

As I was eating my mind went to last evening with Julia and the way she would look up at me and turn away hiding her face when we made eyecontact. The blush on her face would be very obivious every time.

She would look good blushing under me like that.

I shook my head to get that tought out of my mind. She's just here so I can tutor her and that's it. Nothing more. Plus I have other things to focuse on and love wasn't one of them.

I hate being hang over

I could just skip school and do the project in the evening. The idea started to sound like the best option till I remembered that I had to help Julia in biology lesson today.

Shit.

I didn't feel like eating anymore so I just got up and put the plate back in the fridge. I could eat the rest when I came back from school.

Slightly annoyed I went upstairs to get my school bag and leave. If I had to think of something positive about today it was the fact that it couldn't get any worse from here.

Julia

I hated walking alone to school especially after everything that happened last friday. But here I am, walking alone since Indy stayed last night with Cade so she weren't here to walk with me.

Soon I heard footsteps behind me, as I turned to look over my shoulder I noticed Vic walking somewhat behind me.

"Calm down I wasn't planing to attack you".

I must have looked paranoid when I saw her but now I just laughed a little at myself.

"Sorry I'm just still a little nervous to walk alone", I said as I continued walking with her besides me.

All I got in response was a quiet hum.

We had walked in complete silence for a while when I turned to look at Vic. She was walking with her hands in the pockets of her uniform.

Her hair was on the usual bun that we all know at this point but I couldn't see the tattoo on the back of her neck anymore.

Does she cover it with something?

I turned to look at her face. I couldn't see the scar on her jaw that was there before and most of her freackles were gone as well.

Concealer maybe?
