Chapter Three (Aftertaste)

Me and Amy slept in the next morning. We woke up at 11AM, got dressed and went down stairs for breakfast after posting about our night.

As we walked down the stairs I saw Hayes run past the stair case. Shawn walked to the stairs "There you two lazy bones are!" Shawn said smiling at us and walking back to the kitchen.

We walked through the kitchen doors. My mum, Hayes, Nash, Matt & Shawn were all eating their breakfast at the kitchen side. So me and Amy sat at the table like prober ladies. That's what my dad always said to me. He always wanted me to be a good girl in school, wait till marriage for kids, be a prober lady and do my best at everything.

Everyone finished but Amy and I. Just as I finished and was waiting for Amy, Hayes walked in and sat in the chair next to me. "So when is our Starbucks 'date' I guess you can call it?" He said looking into my eyes forgetting Amy was even there.

"I'm free tomorrow? And since when was it a date?"

"Well when you look at it... It sorta is..."

"Really? Why would you wanna go on a date with me?" I tilted my head a little.

"Many reasons. I couldn't possible name them all!" He said in a sweet voice.

Amy coughed to break the awkwardness between us all. "Laila can we talk up stairs?" She said grabbing me by the arm.

"What the hell?! You never told us it was a date! YOU HAVE A DATE WITH HAYES GRIER!!!!" She started to jump while shouting this so loud Hayes could probably hear too!

"I never knew! And anyway it's not a big deal Amy. Don't tell anyone! Not Penny!! Please no." I said while holding her shoulders.

"Don't worry I won't. I wouldn't want to brake her heart!"

"Thanks Amy! That makes me feel so much better!"

"No problem."

After all that drama we went into the living room and the boys were just being boys so me and Amy thought we would go shopping.

We got ready and went out at around 2PM. We only wanted to be a couple of hours but hey! How's counting?

At the shopping mall we saw Keira. With... Sammy?!
"Are Keira and Sammy...?" Me and Amy turned to each other and said at the same time.

"No way! She seemed to really like Hayes." I said to Amy.

"I know right!"

They walked past hand in hand. Our heads turned.

Time past and after shopping we went to a café and stayed a while. My mum arrived to pick us up and we went back to mine. By the time we got back it was already 6:30PM!

We got back and got into our pjs. It was the summer holidays so Amy stayed another night. When we got back we found out so was Hayes & Nash. Matt had to go home though. That made me sad. 😔

I went to see Shawn in the living room with the others. Amy wasn't with me this time. "Night Shawn!" I said hugging him.

"We're watching a film. Wanna watch it with us?" Shawn said looking at me meaning me and Amy.

"Well what is it?"

"Wrong Turn 6" Nash said in an evil voice.

"It's a horror, you won't like it." Hayes said getting up and walking to me.

"How do you know I don't like horrors?" I said looking confused.

"When we were friends we would never watch horror films or a movie that is the littlest bit scary. We always watched chick flicks. you hated scary movies."

"Wow. You remembered?"

*cough*cough* "Hate to interrupt but are we watching this or not?" Nash shouted to us.

Amy walked down the stairs. "IM WATCHING! I love this movie!" She came running down the stairs.

"I don't know..." I said looking at Hayes.

"It's okay. I'll be here." His gentle words dragged me in.

"Okay but only if you stay beside me the whole time!"

"No problem." Hayes said with a cheeky smile.

I sat between Hayes and Nash on the sofa. I sat up against Hayes and the film started...
