William POV:
Sitting on the couch, I found my father standing in front of me, his arms crossed, a stern expression etched on his face. "Really? You had to get into a fight," he scolded me.
"He started it, Dad. I just defended myself," I explained, avoiding eye contact.
"Billy Loomis? He attacked you because you kissed Sidney," my father said, his voice filled with disbelief.
I rose from the couch, determination filling my voice. "He doesn't deserve her. I do!" I confessed, finally revealing my true feelings.
My father's hand clenched tightly, his face showing signs of anger. "You don't involve yourself in someone else's relationship," he emphasized.
"Rich talk coming from you. How many times did you cheat on Mom? How many times before she found out and... and took her own life?" My voice cracked as I shouted, the pain and resentment pouring out.
In a fit of rage, my father retaliated with a forceful punch to my face. I stumbled backward, landing on the couch, feeling the soreness spreading across my cheek. The anger within me surged, overwhelming any sense of control.
Without thinking, I lunged at my father, unleashing all the pent-up frustration I had harboured against him. Blow after blow, I pounded on him until my sister intervened, putting an end to the altercation. Exhausted and seething with anger, I stormed off to my room, slamming the door shut. I despised that man, and just as I had started to trust him again, he shattered it all with his violent outburst.
Sidney POV:
Sitting outside Tatum's, I found myself lost in deep contemplation, reflecting on the events that had unfolded recently. The hallways of the school seemed distant as I made the decision to distance myself from Billy. My feelings for William were incredibly complex, and the fact that I was being stalked only added to the gravity of the situation.
"What if Cotton Weary is actually telling the truth?" Tatum interjected, bringing up a sensitive topic. "Maybe he had an affair with your mom."
I turned to face her, my expression filled with confusion. "But if they were really having an affair, why couldn't Cotton prove it in court?" I questioned, searching for answers.
Tatum scrunched up her face, contemplating my words. "Well, you can't exactly prove a rumour. That's why it's called a rumour," she responded, her voice laced with uncertainty.
"True," I agreed, my anger rising as I mentioned the name. "And let's not forget that little tabloid twit, Gale Weathers, who started all of this."
Tatum nervously shifted her weight, her voice trembling slightly. "It's just... there have been whispers about other men too. It's hard not to question it."
Feeling a surge of frustration, I stood up and walked a few steps away, running my hand across my temple in annoyance. Tatum would eventually apologize, and we would both agree to put this matter to rest, especially since Stu's party was scheduled for tonight.
Patrick Kane POV:
My face bore a slight scuff from the altercation with William, but I couldn't entirely blame him. After all, I was the one who had struck him first.
Just as I was making some progress with William, it felt disheartening to navigate life with a son who harboured such strong animosity towards me, along with a daughter who seemed to despise my very existence.
The town had transformed into a ghostly shell of its former self. Fear of the recent killings had gripped everyone, forcing them to remain locked away in their homes. Only a handful of businesses dared to stay open amidst the prevailing atmosphere of dread.
