Chapter 4 A New Chance

I stared at the couple who walked out happily hand in hand.

I don't understand.

[I looked at my stomach and touched it]

"If I am.. Will this really cause a change in me?"

[I heard my name being called. I looked at the nurse standing up]

"Follow me please."

[I walked into the room]

"So let's see. Oh your here to check if you've got a special surprise to take home."

[She smiled causing me to blush]

"I'm just teasing now let's start."

"So, When was the last time you menstruated?"
(Why is my heart beating so fast)

"Um, about 2 months ago. It's was supposed to appear the 15th last month and it didn't. I seemed to have missed it this month to."

"I see, two months then."

"Yeah."

"When was the last time you had intercourse?"

"T-Two weeks ago."

[I blushed embarrassed. She wrote it down]

"Has he used any means of protection?"

"Tsumu the condom.. You're not wearing it."

"Tsumu, Im not on the pill. What if I get pre-"

[He kissed me pushing me further into the sheets making me forget about the consequences]

(After that he stopped using any means of protection.)

"He didn't even bother to pull out."

"That perverted bastard."

[I mumbled]

"Ah no we haven't lately."

"I see."

[She wrote it down]

"Have you taken a test?"

[I shook my head]

"I just panicked as soon as I saw the date and noticed I was late so I headed here. At first I thought I was just bloated since I'd been feeling sick lately."

[She nodded]

"Alright we're gonna run some blood tests to make sure."

[I nodded while she walked away]

"Could I really be..."

[I looked at my stomach touching it feeling the butterflies as I stared in silence]

"Carrying Atsumu's child?..."

[She walked back sitting down handing me the paper with a bright smile]

"Congratulations! From now on you'll be eating for two!"

"So you mean."

[I touched my stomach feeling my heartbeat quicken]

"I have a child in my stomach?"

[She nodded]

"Tsumu, and I are having a baby."

[I said surprised as she nodded again]

"Your due date is July 20th, 2016"

"Congratulations to both of you!"

"A baby with Tsumu.."
[I looked at the doctor suddenly remembering all the poor choices I had made regarding my health]

"How long? Have I been carrying the baby? I haven't eaten well in the past couple of days did I hurt them! Are they okay?!!"

[I asked panicked clutching my stomach]

"Calm down don't worry you're fine! According to the blood test!"

"Right.. Um exactly how long have I been carrying my baby?"

"Well Pregnancy doesn't start the day you have sex it can take up to six days after sex for the sperm and egg to join and form a fertilized egg. Then, it can take three to four days for the fertilized egg to completely implant itself in the lining of the uterus. So I'm pretty sure the fertilization occurred before the last time you had intercourse."

[My eyes widened as I look at my stomach]

"So you've been here this long already?!"

"Now then shall we get to the next step. Please late down and lift your shirt. Let's check how your baby is doing through the ultrasound."

[You face the screen. As she applied the gel]

"Now let's see."
[She moves around the transducer on her stomach and stops and smiles]

"Oh my!"

"Is something wrong?!"

"No actually. Let me ask. Is your significant other a twin? Or are their twins in your family?"

[I nodded]

"He is a twin."

"I see, Well let me congratulate you again. You're having twins!"

(Is this the emotion that woman was talking about)

"I... can't believe it."

I couldn't help but feel the tears fall down my cheeks forgetting the ghost of my mother that existed since I was a child was gone in an instant.

"My own family..."

[I remembered that older woman who smiled at me.]
