"it'll be fine," wilbur dismisses, waving a hand at his brother as he makes his way into the little cottage. it feels so nice and warm inside, his brother is crazy for missing out. "see. look! cake!"

wilbur rushes over to the counter, just vaguely hearing techno telling him to be careful from outside.

he barely touches the frosted cupcakes before he hears the door slam shut, prompting him to turn back with furrowed brows. "techie?"

instinctively, wilbur flies over to the entrance, finding it quicker than having to walk. when he arrives, he sees the pink-haired boy through the plastic door. the older brother looks stressed as he pulls at the handle. "i told you it was a trap!"

"stop messing around techno, let me out," wilbur scolds, also trying to push on the door. he refuses to believe that someone would be so cruel as to put out a fairy trap in the form of a comforting little house. how could anyone be so evil? no, this must just be his brother playing a trick on him. he is a notoriously mischievous fairy, after all.

"i'm not messing around! i tried to warn you it's a trap and you wouldn't listen to me!"

through the cottage window, wilbur sees a huge door open in the distance. to his horror, a giant steps out. "tech, go!"

"what, why?" the pinkette questions, yanking the door handle. "i can't just leave you here, you'll get caught."

"it's too late," wilbur exposes, gesturing for the pinkette to turn around. he can see his brother's face drop in horror when he moves to see the blond giant running in their direction.

techno turns back, looking torn. ultimately, he says, "i promise i'll be back for you," before taking his legs up off of the floor and darting away into the sky.

wilbur sighs, stressed. he supposes he will just have to accept his fate, sitting down by the door of the fairy house with slumped shoulders and a pout on his lips. he should've known it was too good to be true. what human would leave out fairy cakes just for the sake of kindness? he knows they're innately selfish beings, but he has always been an optimist.

he is thrown across the floor of the house when it is suddenly lifted up off of the ground and toppled off balance. he slams into one of the back walls, feeling how his wing bends upon impact. he can't help but yelp in sudden pain.

"oh! i'm so sorry," the giant apologises. the house stabilises, and wilbur assumes the giant has put a hand under the trap house. "oh my god, i- you're real!"

wilbur glances over at the windows, crossing his arms in a silent protest. he glares out of the house at the evil being who trapped him, and he's surprised to see how young the giant human looks. from his experience distantly watching humans, he would assume this particular one is no more than eight or nine.

it breaks his heart, to think about how young he is, yet already so evil.

the human stares at him for a few moments longer, wonder glistening in his eyes, before his face lights up. "come on, i have to show you to mum! she'll be so impressed."
