Riley walked into school hoping to see someone who can help her find her room.Room 407 and sure enough a boy named Max Wright walked her way he introduced himself to Riley and Riley did the same they asked each other questions about each other all the way to class and agreed to stay in touch then they both entered there class room where they got seats next to each other. On the other of her she realized the a the same girl who was rude to her on the bus. The girl rolled her eyes at her and started writing some kind of note she then passed it to Max. Max opened it and laughed to himself then put it in his bag. That made Riley unsure of herself, what if that note was about her? Riley decided not to worry about it because she didn't even know if he wanted to be friends. At the end of class Riley couldn't resist so she asked him what the note said. He didn't say anything instead he gave her the note in addition to another note that he told her to open at home. She continued to second period wondering what was inside of those notes.
