"Mum I'm home!" I yelled out as I chucked my bag to my left. I'd pick it up later, actually I probably wouldn't.
"Oh, hey." My younger brother Tom was sitting on the couch watching TV, strange I thought. My brother was a sporty type unlike me I liked to sit around and do nothing. Not only was he sporty he had good looks unlike me I was an average. His brown wavy hair and tanned skin, but then I had wavy brown hair and not so tanned skin more like olive tone. A lot of people thought we were twins and not just cause we looked alike but we were really close.
"What's up with you?" I nodded to the couch and TV giving him a hint of what I meant. He stood up and stretched making me feel like a shrimp because he was younger than me but a bit taller.
"I rolled my ankle at footy training." He smiled handing me his ice pack. "Please?" I looked at it trying to take in what he meant. "Go put it away." He said not smiling anymore.
"Oh." I walked of and into the kitchen and put it into the freezer.
"Oh, hey honey. How was your day?" Mum had walked into the kitchen.
"Confusing." I said not even realising what I'd said. But hey it had been a confusing day, cause I still had no idea why those guys had been pointing at us and obviously talking about us. It ist don't Mae much sense so I had every right to be confused. But that didn't mean it was the best idea blurting it out to Mum.
"Confusing?" My mum looked at me confused herself with her brow all scrunched up.
"Oh...um no, I meant.....um..pollused. Yeah pollused." Yeah because that was a great one Georgia, just great.
Mum looked at me wide eyed. "Have you been hanging around that Victoria to much, because that's a big word that even I don't know." Mum laughed, and I thought well it actually isn't a word at all. While mum was having a laughing fit I slipped out of the room to do homework and call Katie. I needed to talk to her about today because I was seriously confused. Well maybe not as confused as I'd just made my Mum but anyway.
But before I could even pick up the phone to call her a familiar figure stood at my door way. She was weird just popping up all the time. One time it was dark and she just walked in. I screamed because a) I had recently watched a horror movie and b) she didn't tell me she was coming so I had no idea what or who it was.
"So, today?" Katie plopped down on my bed, I frowned now I was going to have to make it again. Yeah I know, lazy. But I put a lot of effort into making my bed.
"Oh, hello fancy seeing you here!" I put on my most polite voice.
"Oh I'm so sorry, hello." She brought out the so to sooooo.
"Today was weird yes." I frowned, I was so confused. Thinking over today was hurting my head so i turned to Katie to see if she could think of it for me, which I'm sure she had.
"Yes it was but do you know what's even weirder?" Katie was smiling now.
"What?" I was now double confused.
"You." She giggled, what was the giggle for? I don't know. "It's not you to normally really care about this stuff, so do you know like one of them or something?"
I gasped in horror, she was right! What had happened to me! "Yuck! I do not like them!" I wasn't ever into boys. They weren't into me, well form what I knew. So I wasn't into them, full stop.
She shook her head, I hit her in the shoulder. For the next hour we argued over the fact that I didn't like them. And then Katie brought up the topic that I needed love in my life, I argued the point that I didn't because I didn't. Not until maybe I'm forty or maybe I'd die with a gazillion cats. Eventually I decided to kick her of my bed. And it worked!
"Ha!" I pointed at her triumphantly.
"Well I suppose I'll go then!" She's says jokingly but seriously at the same time. I looked at my phone, it was eight o'clock, wow time flys when your having fun. I didn't know we were having fun at all! After a little more arguing over nothing at all I kicked her out the door promising to meet her at the mall at ten o'clock.
"Well, that was interesting." Tom was behind me leaning on the wall with a stupid grin on his face. Uh-oh.
"What was interesting?" I hoped he hadn't heard our conversation not that it was really a conversation more of an argument. "What did you hear?" I asked quietly hoping mum wouldn't hear.
"Oh, not much. Just about how you needed love in your life and the fact you may or may not like Brent or Todd. That's all." He smirked. I scowled at him why did he have to know everything. And knowing him he'd go and tell those two tomorrow. Yay! My life's just great. I sighed and walked of with Tom laughing behind me.
