"I never craved attention, until I tasted yours"
He is beautifully dressed as he sits there. He seemed to think he had never seen me before, but only if he knew how long I had been awaiting this, and when it finally arrived, he let me down. I'm certain that he remembers me in one way or another. All I have to do is remind him. I have to take action. My mother and Kate are chatting about food recipes at the table, and He is just sitting there not saying much.
At the head of the table, I'm seated. observing his facial expressions and mannerisms. He glanced at me once, and when he saw that I was looking, he swiftly turned around.Something about him drew me in even further. I want him to only gaze at me. I struck an idea while I surreptitiously observed him. What I really need right now is to get closer to him, to accomplish anything that could lead to me seeing him every day. And then I had an idea. As I rose and took a stride toward the stairs, my smile grew broader. I walked the stairs until I reached the top. I gave them one more look before closing my eyes carefully. As I let myself fall, the corners of my mouth curved into a beautiful smile. As I rolled down the steps, I felt pain throughout, but favorably the most discomfort was in my knee.
"Oh my goddess," Kate yelled out of fear.
I was lying in the corner, trying not to grin with delight. Kate was the one who ran towards me, which made me feel an emotion I couldn't define, whereas my mother stayed motionless.
"Oh goddess you're bleeding," she pleaded while scanning my body "Did you hurt something else?"
I could feel a tear fall from my eye from agony, yet my happiness had no line.
"My knee hurts a lot," I whined touching my knee as I looked at Daniel next to me.
"Daniel, pick her up let's take her to the hospital."
My mother suddenly jumped onto the scene.
"There is no need for that it's probably sprained, she will get better at home." My mother spoke with the audacity to smile.
"Jane how can you say that, she's in pain she has to go to the hospital. Pick her up Daniel." Kate demanded.
He nodded, his eyes widening, and carefully wrapped his hands around my waist and legs, picking me up. I liked it even more since I was so near to his face that I could see his features much more clearly. I took my time studying his face as he rushed me to his car. It was still dirty, as it had been the first time we met. Once Kate was in the car, he drove to one of the nearby hospitals and when he stopped, he effortlessly lifted me from the seat and took me inside.
Now I was in a wheelchair next to Daniel, who was waiting for a doctor. Kate mysteriously vanished in the hospital, but I didn't question it because I was alone with Daniel and had to finish my entire reason for harming myself. The fragrance of the hospital brought back memories of how I used to get hurt and wind up in the hospital as a youngster. It was usually done to garner my parents' attention, who would end up scolding me rather than treating me like a sick person, but even that scolding was satisfying to hear.
"Gosh, I can't believe this," I muttered covering my face with my hands.
A warm hand was placed on my back, causing me to look. Daniel was attempting to comfort me.
"Why did I have to hurt my leg," I ran my hand through my hair "How am I supposed to go to school this way."
He took a glance down at the floor, then back to me, ready to speak, but Kate arrived in front of us. I peered at her, my gaze drawn to her white coat and a small name tag affixed to her shirt with her name inscribed on it. Doctor Kate.
"Okay, let's take an X-ray on your leg."
She went behind me and began pushing the wheelchair forward, while Daniel followed us in silence.
She led me to one of the rooms with an X-ray machine and got me to have one. My knee had been fractured rather than broken, as it turned out. Kate informed me that I must wear a cast until the wound heals on its own, which will take some time. This was, by far, the happiest day of my life.
I was sitting next to Daniel as Kate began to put on the cast. I grinned in pain and grabbed onto Daniel's firm. When the pain subsided, I glanced at Daniel with Doe's eyes, slightly biting my lip, and murmured "Sorry." As predicted His cheeks flushed as he replied with a smile.
"You are free to go honey. Daniel will drive you back home but I have to stay and take care of a few patients." She gave me a warm smile and I nodded.
Daniel's hands around mine, clutching handles of clutches aided me in walking to his car. When he would slowly let go to allow me to walk, I would knowingly lose my balance, causing him to return to the same position. I couldn't help but smile as I observed his endearing actions. We made it to the car, and he assisted me in scooping up to the front seat. We arrived in front of my house with him channeling Barbie's song from the radio and me laughing my ass off. It felt more natural between us, like if we had known each other before. These experiences convinced me that shattering my knee was worthwhile.
"Well, that was something." He joked.
Both of us giggled at his statement and silence fell in.
I wasn't sure what this was but I knew one thing. I was in love with Daniel and he is feeling the same way about me, I know he is."I was thinking..." he scratched his head and continued "Since you can't go to school with the bus in this condition,"
I nodded giving him full of my attention.
"Perhaps I could drive you to school every day?"
My eyes widened as my lips parted gently. I could feel the thrill pumping through my veins. I really wanted to kiss him.
"You would do that for me?" I asked in fascination.
"Yeah, of course," he remarked "I mean I would do this for anyone we uh... we are all humans after all" his eyes were temporarily shut in confusion at his last comment.
I took advantage of the situation, leaning in and kissing him on the cheek. His eyes widened and he stared at me, puzzled.
He merely managed to scratch his head, his countenance considerably more stumped than before. I opened the door and slowly got out of the car while he remained motionless. I took a second to turn around and face him.
"Thank you."
I closed the car door and just like that I walked up to my house with a huge smile of success.
