The crosshairs of the Mosin Nagant's scope danced around the fighters. "Chris I have known you for nearly three years and I still can't understand exactly why you prefer those weapons over using me." The girl's voice was stern, with a twinge of jealousy as she pulled her blue eyes away from the spotter's scope. Her short, wavy red hair lay over a black head band. She wore a black tank top, a tan tactical vest and olive cargo pants with leather boots.

"Yes you do," Chris was slightly taller than her with similar combat gear. He wore a brown beanie and had a slightly scruffy beard. He was tan with a black eye-patch over his right eye. His uncovered eye was brown just like his hair. Chris watched as the hook sword user was pushed into the crowd of practicing students. He ran into large student wielding a warhammer. The warhammer came down toward the hook sword miester but he stepped to the side and blocked an arrow that was flying toward him. "You know how much these guns mean to my father and I..." Chris trailed off as he realized that the entire class was erupting into a brawl. "That's one way to practice defensive techniques."

"What are you talking about?" The girl went back to looking through the spotters scope and saw what was shaping up to be a chaotic battle. After a few minutes of fighting the girl turned to look at Chris. "Chris someone is here."

"Yea," Chris reached toward a hip holster and drew a Colt m1911 handgun. The weapon had a silver slide and a custom threaded barrel to accommodate a silencer. He trained the raised night sights on the person who had come up behind them. Corvus but his hands up and Sapphire did the same. "I had wondered why you two left the fight."

"I saw no point in getting involved in a brawl like that," Sapphire said, "and I suggested we enlist your help on something that we're working on."

"What kind of help?" The red head asked.

"Some of the upper class students mentioned an eye-patch wearing student who performs recon on high value targets from the Mission Bulletin," Corvus said, "would that be you?"

"WE," The redhead accentuated, "do that kind of recon, for a price."

"Yes the rumors also mentioned that," Sapphire nodded as she produced an envelope.

"Rumors are spreading about us Kristine," Chris lowered his handgun and placed it back in his holster as he stood up.

"Well the only thing more legendary than our recon skills is most likely your hunger," Kristine giggled.

"The rumors only really mentioned the one student," Sapphire said handing the envelope to a suddenly depressed looking Kristine, "I hope this covers it." As she opened the envelope her expression changed and she whistled.

"Chris," She looked back, "this more than we usually charge."

"My family left me a sizeable amount of money," Corvus' expression was unchanging at the mention of his family, "but much like my family money doesn't mean much."

"The Sicarius family was a great clan of assassins," Chris acknowledged, "I've heard stories of them even being hired by Lord Death in the past."

"That's where they are now," Corvus' expression finally lowered to a grimace, "with me being all that is left." Kristine had a sympathetic look on her face. "But we aren't paying you to sympathize with me or pity me, we need you to recon a few border towns south of here. We're looking for the Knights Templar main compound. This flash drive has the rest of the info you'll need." Corvus pulled a drive from his robes and handed it to Chris.

"We want to keep their leaders alive," Sapphire explained, "Corvus' name has come up in some files involved with this cartel and we want to know why, but we'll figure that out for ourselves. All we need is numbers on their forces and if you can identify leadership figures that would be a bonus."
