I balanced the phone between my shoulders and ears as I put on my sneakers.
"Kai i told you to be here by five so what do you mean by you just fucking left the zoo" I yelled into the phone, pacing around the hall.
"Bri I'm gonna be there soon, chill." The faint sound of an elephant came from his background.
"Kailyn, you told me you left ten minutes ago" I said, trying to calm myself down.
"I meant I left where the flamingoes were ten minutes ago...I'll leave after I see the elephants"
" No biggie, I'll just leave your goofy ass behind" I ended the call and tossed my phone the couch, exhaling loudly. I picked it up once more and went to my kitchen. I quickly decorated the cake and added the accessories to it, packed the cupcakes into the cupcake holder. My phone screen lit with a notification.
Annoyingwhore:U left already?💀 I left his message on read and went back to what I was doing.
My doorbell rang.
"Zar? Have you left already? Zariiiii, open up bro!"
"Shut the absolute fuck up" I yelled back. I walked to the door, yanking it open. He gave me a sheepish smile and raised a dirty limp rose to my face. I smacked it out of his hands, stepping on it as I walked back inside.
"Dude...i literally had to rob that from somebody's garden"
"Don't even think of stepping inside" I said over my shoulder. I picked everything up and walked out of my apartment, shoving the bag of candles into his hands before locking up my apartment. We walked to the elevator, pressing the button and waiting for it to open.
"You look cute"
"Thanks" I replied dryly. We walked into the elevator.
Where did u get your cargo pants from?" I ignored him, applying a coat of lip gloss on my lips.

"We are terribly fucking late" I whispered to myself. I sighed in relief when the elevator came to halt and the doors opened. I walked quickly out of the lobby and into the warm summer air. I unlocked my car and sat in, typing the address of our delivery into the navi. Kai put the stuff in the back and joined me in front.
"You cant be possibly still mad at me Zar" I turned on the radio, singing under my breath.
"Zari im sorry"
"Okay"
"What do you mean by okay" He threw up his hands.
"Exactly what I mean" I turned up the volume.
"I actually went on a date" He blurted
"You did what now?" I turned down the volume.
"I went on a date" He repeated.
"Bitch" I shoved his shoulders "why didnt you tell me"
"i just didn't know how to say it" He said lowly.
"I've known since we were like two and you're still shy to tell me you went on a date" I laughed
"Whatever" He looked out the window, a wide smile on his face.
