Today will be a long day...

Once they got to school, Alia hurried out of the car, as Kaylee didn't like her spending more than 5 seconds in there. Alia went over to her obnoxious friend group. Her friend group could never know she found them obnoxious. Alia didn't like being in the crowd, but she was the best volleyball player, so she almost was always in the crowd. She was in a friend group with basically everyone in different sports. One of her friends, Hannah, was the star player in soccer. Her other friend Jessica was the star player for basketball. Riley was the star player in softball, and Gianna was the star player in track. She held the record for the 1500 run. They were all the "popular girls" because they were all star players.

Alia didn't really like this. She liked books. She liked to be alone, in a quiet library, reading her favorite book, the silent patient. But, she couldn't. She had to sit around with her popular friends while they all talked about boys. Kaylee was the worst. She liked nerdy boys, and there was this boy.. Jonathan.  He had commented on a few of Alia's stuff. Just complimenting her shirt or the background, never her specifically. He was honestly better than her boyfriend, James. James was abusive, of course she couldn't tell anyone. He was very controlling. She believes he doesn't like her, he never even comments or says  anything sincere. He doesn't put in effort, or atleast she feels like. She feels like a total bitch for feeling like this though... but she couldn't help it. As she was lost in thought, Riley asked her a question. "You haven't talked much Alia, are you okay??" Riley questioned as she was genuinely concerned. Alia was always talking with a bright smile, but today she was just zoned out. "I'm fine, thanks for asking" she gives a small smile. Riley has been her only real friend. They had been friends since kindergarten. Riley was the only one who knew about how she felt about James. Riley also doesn't care about the popularity, and she never talked about boys. Between Riley and Alia, Reilly was actually lesbian, but she couldn't ever admit this. Only to Alia, they were just close like that. Riley gave Alia a look, and Alia nodded. The look was "James again?" Alia nodded. The group was weirded out by this, but they never questioned it. Then the bell rang. Time for class.
