Chen caught onto what was going on, his face darkens.

Chinedu glanced at Chen. He refrain from groaning, was that the Man of her 'dreams'?

A bitter smile was plastered on his face. "You left Amaka at home, alone? You really are an Irresponsible Mother." Eseosa trembled, she held her breath as she tried to stop the tears from running down her face.

She got up, stared into Chen's eyes sadly, and told him. ".. I'm sorry.. I'll be outside, I don't want to cause a scene." With that, she left, Chinedu following behind her.

But Chen couldn't let her go. Not now, not ever. He gestured for the Waiter to come, and paid. He stood up, dusted himself up, and firmly walked out of the Restaurant.

Eseosa's loud and raging voice urged Chen for him to stand behind her. For him to protect her if Chinedu tried to do anything to her.

"..Did you just come here to insult me?!" The tears were already running down her face.

Chinedu shouted causing her to press her lips shut in fear. "..I came to see you!!! You know what we—"

Eseosa escapes from his tight grasp, she crosses her arms, something that looked like she was shielding herself from something that could Harm her.
"No! From today, I don't want to see your face ever again!! Don't visit me, and don't visit my Child! She doesn't need someone—"

She stopped herself when she noticed that Chen was listening the entire time. She took his hand, and walked away from the scene. Chinedu called after her, provoking and insulting Chen too. But he paid no mind to him, only to Eseoda who was shaking like crazy, mumbling incoherent things under her breath.

They made it to her house in a hurry. Eseoda never let go of his hand when she confirmed that Chinedu, had, indeed, broke into her home. Fear washed over her when she realized that her daughter was inside. She rushed inside with Chen hurrying behind her, and she found Bella coating Amaka's toenails in green nail polish.

Bella turned her head towards the footsteps, and her rosy thin lips perked up in a radiant smile. ".. You're back! How did the date.." Her eyes widened at Chen. She recognized him, but at the same time she didn't.

Chen introduced himself. "I'm Xiao Chen. You're.. Bella? From middle school?" Bella furrowed her eyebrows. "Chen.. Are you the one who helped Eseosa when she was on her period, in middle school?"

Chen nods. "That too. And," Bella gasps. "And the Soulmate?!"

Eseosa whisper shouts at her. "..bella!!" When she noticed that her daughter was about to fall asleep.

Bella muttered an apology, and got up only to bolt out of her house.

PROMISING FUTURE

Chen prepared a meal for Eseosa and him, while she was speaking to her daughter.

Eseosa braided Amaka's hair into Cornrows as she explained the situation. "That Man, is my Soulmate."

Amaka could speak, just not in full sentences. "..Reinca.."

Eseosa chuckled lightly. "Reincarnation, yes." When she was finished with her hair, she covered her hair with a bonnet. She picked her daughter up, and placed her on her bed.

She tucked her in, and kissed her forehead. "Try to sleep, okay?" Amaka was already asleep, causing Eseosa to hold her laugh. Chen stood behind her, he kneeled down and gazed at Amaka.

"She looks like you." Eseosa flinched. "You scared me."

They both gaze at Amaka. Eseosa glumly says. "..I fear she'll feel alone when I'm not around. It's hard, being a single Mother. And Amaka, she doesn't have any siblings. I don't want her to be alone." She took a deep breath, "Are you comfortable in those clothes?"

She gave Chen some clothes to wear, since he would be spending the night here. He nodded. "Yes. I came here to tell you that dinner is ready, and.. I wanted to see Amaka."

The way he said her daughter's name, was full of Gentleness. It warmed Eseosa's heart. His hand reached out to take hers, and they walked together towards the kitchen.

After they ate, Chen sat on her bed. He didn't want to leave her. Ever.

Eseosa explained. "..He wanted a divorce because I was obsessed with you. I don't blame him though. But before that, he barely paid Amaka any attention so I'm glad he's gone."

Chen's throat tightened up, he wanted to ask her something and Eseosa could see it on his face. So she urged him to ask her.

"He visits you?"

Eseosa bites her lip in shame. "He drowns himself in his work, and Alcohol. I.. I never let him get to me and my daughter, but he somehow manages to get in the house without me knowing. He doesn't do anything.. To me."

She disgustingly forces out. "He only demands for Sex."

Chen fixates his eyes on her. "..And do you..?"

Eseosa glared at him. "..No! Ugh, of course not. Why would I do such a thing, when you're constantly on my mind?"

He smiles. Chen's Hand snaked around her waist, he pulled her towards him, causing her body to face him. He hugs her. And she hugs him back.
