So, starting a new school was never fun, and when you're a hunter it's even worse. Every few months I would be uprooted and moved to another state, and it was always terrible. We always managed to move in the middle of the school year, so, while everyone else was settled and had their routines and friends, I was starting fresh.

Walking through the doors of Beacon Hills High School was just another round of deja vu. I fidgited with my bag strap as we, Becca and I, walked towards the principal's office in silence; me not wanting to get into anymore trouble, and Becca was still slightly peeved at the fact she had no hot water this morning.

Becca wrapped three times on the door before we heard a brief 'come in.' I was nudged to go first and Becca stepped in behind me.

Principal Thomas stood from his desk and held a hand out for Becca.

Becca took his hand and gave it a firm shake. "Nice to meet you Principal Thomas, I'm Rebecca Sanchez, and this is Kacey Winchester."

"Hi."I gave him an awkward wave before the three of us sat down.

"Nice to meet you both." Principal Thomas returned the pleasentries before opening the file that was sat in front of him. "So, I looked over your transcripts from your previous schools; your grades are exceptional and your teachers loved you. What concerns me, is the amount of schools you've attended."

"Well, my dad had to move us around a lot. He's a travelling salesman and we have no other family, aside from an uncle in Sioux Falls but he couldn't look after us all the time, so we had to move with him." I informed the principal.

"Where is your father now?"

"He passed away ten years ago, sir."

"Oh, I'm sorry."

"It's okay." I looked to the floor.

Becca cleared her throat. "Maybe we should get back to Kacey's education?"

"Yes," Principal Thomas nodded. "You're right. So, I don't see why you can't be a member of our fine school. We'll get you registered today and you can start tomorrow. I'll just need some information from you Miss Sanchez."

Becca nodded while smiling at the principal. "Of course, Kacey why don't you wait outside. I'm sure it won't take long."

I nodded. "Okay. I'll see you tomorrow, Principal Thomas."

He nodded and smiled at me as I walked out of the room, I took a seat in one of the chairs lined up against the wall. I pulled a book from my bag and opened it up to my bookmarked page.

"Kacey?"

I looked up and found the culprit who interrupted me from my reading. "Stiles, hi."

Brown eyes came and sat down beside me. "Are you in trouble already?"

I laughed. "You wish. No, Becca is just filling out some things and I was sent to wait here."

"So, are you an official student?" He asked.

"As of nine am tomorrow." I sent him an over enthusiastic smile causing him to chuckle. "Shouldn't you be in class or something?"

"No, I have a free period and then lunch. I was just about to head to the library actually."

"Cool," I faked a cough, "nerd."

He faked offence. "I think you have a misunderstanding. If anyone is a nerd, it's the girl who carries a book with her."

"It's just good sense, you never know when you might need some entertainment." I defended myself.

"Yeah, well, it also shows you're a big-"
