The sound of my phone disrupted the silence, and upon seeing the caller ID display "Jimin," my heart quickened. Jimin had been my closest friend for as long as I could remember, even before his rise to idol status. With a mixture of curiosity and uncertainty, I answered the call.
"Hey," his voice came through, carrying a weight of emotion. "I love you."
My heart danced between excitement and trepidation. Though I'd harbored deep feelings for Jimin for ages, I'd never dared to voice them.
"Um, Jimin?" I managed, my voice catching in my throat.
A woman's voice, unfamiliar and unexpected, interjected, "I love you too."
My heart plummeted at the sound of the unfamiliar voice responding to Jimin's affection. Shocked and unable to process the situation, I hung up the call, tears streaming down my face without my realization until their burning sensation caught my attention.
Throughout the night, I found myself engulfed in tears, my emotions cascading as I mourned what I felt I had lost.
~ Time Passed ~
The following morning followed its usual routine. I completed my morning rituals – showering, dressing, and applying light makeup – before setting out for the boys' dormitory.
As I walked towards the dorm, which wasn't far from my place, I spotted Jimin just as I was about to call out his name. To my dismay, he emerged from the dorm with a girl by his side, sharing a lingering kiss that felt like an eternity.
Frozen in place, I couldn't bring myself to move. The ache in my heart was unbearable; Jimin meant the world to me, yet he was entangled with someone else.
Once their farewell was exchanged and the girl departed, Jimin's gaze finally found me. A faint blush colored his cheeks as he recognized my presence.
"Hey, Y/N!" he greeted with a sheepish smile, his lips tugging at his words.
Brushing past him without acknowledging his greeting, I entered the dorm, seeking solace. In the living room, Yoongi was asleep on the sofa, while Jin and Namjoon were busy preparing a meal.
"Good morning, Namjoonie and Jinnie!" I chimed in.
"Hi, Y/N," they both replied in unison.
I began to inquire about their morning when Jimin suddenly seized my arm, pulling me away from the common area and into his room, where he locked the door.
Concern painted his features as he questioned, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," I responded, my attempt at nonchalance failing to mask my turmoil.
"Don't lie," he urged, his frustration mounting.
"Is she your girlfriend?" I blurted out, the question escaping me before I could filter my thoughts.
Jimin's shock was evident, and he hesitated before answering, "Yes, and I love her deeply."
Suppressing the surge of tears, I clung to my composure, though my voice betrayed me. "Oh, okay."
My voice cracked as the pressure of withheld tears and suppressed emotions became too much. And then it happened, the tears flowed, staining my white top.
Jimin let out a heavy sigh, his frustration mingled with a tinge of guilt. "Y/N, I'm aware of your feelings, but I've always seen you as a sister. Please, let's not jeopardize our friendship. Don't make me feel guilty. I can't handle that."
His attempt to brush away my tears was met with a slap, and my words carried the weight of my hurt. "I didn't do anything. I didn't have to. You made your own choices."
Leaving Jimin behind, I exited his room, colliding with Hobi – the ray of sunshine among them.
~ Jimin's Perspective ~
I was left stunned, forced to face the truth I had tried to avoid. She was right – all my fears materialized because of my own actions.
I attempted to chase after her, my door swinging open to reveal her tear-streaked form finding solace in J-Hope's embrace. J-Hope had always carried a flame for her, a realization that stung me with jealousy; he saw her in ways I couldn't.
I cleared my throat, met by J-Hope's wrathful glare. Before I could react, he had her arm in his grip, pulling her into his room and sealing the door.
~ End of Jimin's Perspective ~
Awakening from a daze, I realized I was in Hobi's room. My vision blurred as tears streamed down, an unwelcome collaboration with gravity. At that moment, gravity seemed to conspire against me.
Hobi's gaze bore into me as he declared, "Stop crying. It bothers me."
Attempting to comply with his demands, I struggled to quell my sobs. Suddenly, he pressed me against the door, his hand at my waist while the other traced my jawline.
His lips met mine in a soft, consuming kiss that felt like a haven. I melted into the sensation, moving in sync with his lips. His grip tightened, anchoring me in that moment.
When he pulled away, his breath lingered against my lips. His words hung in the air, a promise tinged with possessiveness. "I'll help you forget... baby girl."
