From a distance, I had the pleasure of witnessing the magnificent landmarks of London bathed in the enchanting afternoon light. The city came alive with a vibrant energy that captivated my senses. As I strolled along the bustling streets, I couldn't help but marvel at the iconic sights that adorned the cityscape.
I could also make out the grand silhouette of St Paul's Cathedral, its iconic dome rising high above the city skyline. The building was illuminated by the warm afternoon light, creating a stunning and majestic view. I was mesmerized by the structure's grandeur and beauty , and the sight of the golden dome standing tall against the backdrop of the cityscape was breathtaking.
The majestic Tower Bridge stood tall and proud even with it being hundreds of miles away, its intricate design and grandeur taking my breath away. The golden rays of the sun cast a warm glow upon its elegant structure, creating a picture-perfect moment that etched itself into my memory.
After admiring the beautiful landmarks of London, I walked down the street a bit until I found a Centra close by. I walked inside and grabbed a basket, ready to start my grocery shopping.
I browsed through the aisles, picking up essentials like milk, eggs, and vegetables. Also food like avocado, and spinach to make oatmeal, a green smoothie, and avocado bread.
I also grabbed a few snacks and treats for myself.
With my basket full, I headed to the checkout counter to pay for my items. After paying for my groceries, I said goodbye to the cashier and headed out the door.
As I walked back to my apartment, the streets were peaceful and I had a sense of calmness wash over me. However, this was quickly broken when I heard a man shouting in an alleyway in the corner.
"Miguel! What do you mean one girl dropped out? The show starts next tomorrow! How am I supposed to find a beautiful girl in time for next tomorrow!"
Panicking, Miguel replied, "I'm sorry boss, but I did my best to recruit someone else. I even asked around the streets, but I couldn't find anyone. I'm sorry, I just don't know what else to do."
I felt guilty for eaves dropping on their conversation and knew I shouldn't be listening, so I started to leave.
Before I left, I heard the man shout to Miguel again, "Well you better find one or you're fired!"
As soon as the phone hung up, Miguel broke down in tears. He was in a state of panic and desperation, not knowing what he was going to do. His boss had given him an impossible task, and he was running out of time to fulfill it.
He wasn't sure what else he could do, and he was starting to feel defeated. He felt helpless and alone, like he had no one to turn to.
He looked up to the sky and prayed for a miracle, hoping that somehow he would find a way to make his boss happy.
Little did Miguel know, his miracle was walking away. I had overheard his conversation and knew that I could help him.
I stopped in my tracks and turned around, deciding to go back to the alleyway.
Why did his boss have to give him such an impossible task? Was there really no one else to help him? Could I really be the miracle he was praying for?
Fuck his unconscious guilt tripping! I thought as I walked into the alleyway.
"Hey, Miguel was it?" I said gently as I approached him. He looked up at me in surprise, his eyes red and puffy from crying.
He nodded slowly, looking at me with confusion.
