He had done it again. He had ended up with Yugi's group of friends. He hated the fact he ever-so slightly enjoyed hanging out with them. There was something so alluring about the rowdy group. Well, that's what Kaiba thought at least. The real thing he was interested in was Yami, not anyone else.

Kaiba stood oddly tense as the others planned out what they were going to do. He honestly had no input for their plan and just wanted this day to end. He was at such a loss around them. It freaked him out. He was always so well thought out with everything but whenever he hung out with Yugi and his friends, he was always so confused and never sure of how to make of things. They never had a concurrent plan to go through their days. It freaked Kaiba out. It felt unsafe without a plan, technically it was unsafe.

Kaiba had seen it himself.

-

It was late and cold. Kaiba was out by himself to clear his mind but the condition of the outside wasn't helping. The wind kept blowing Kaiba's bangs into his eyes and he swore he kept feeling the beginning of rain.

But it was calm and that was all that really mattered.

The city had been buzzing with activity all day because of some stupid watch that was released and Kaiba hadn't been able to get out at all, at least not peacefully.

Sadly, his quiet night was interrupted by screaming coming from the alleyway next to him. Kaiba's hand immediately grabbed onto his pocketknife as a man emerged from the shadows of the alley, screaming wildly.

"You! You have to help me! Please! He's a-" the man then collapsed in front of Kaiba's feet, completely motionless. Kaiba felt his heart drop as he stepped away from the man, looking up towards the alley.

There was a glowing yellow eye submerged into the shadows. Kaiba felt like it was staring into his very soul. He felt breathless, like he was being choked but that all faded away in a second when the figure stepped out of the shadows.

"Seto!" It was Yugi- no, Yami, Kaiba could tell that now, "how wonderful to see you here!" Yami grinned and stepped over the body to sling his arm over Kaiba's shoulder.

An odd urge washed over Kaiba at that moment. An odd urge to where he wanted to hold Yami, to hold him and never let go. The idea made Kaiba blush.

"How are you this fine evening?" He questioned, eyeing Kaiba.

"I'm...I'm fine." Kaiba spoke, cringing internally at the own waver of his voice. Yami grinned and nodded.

"How delightful!" He started walking, pulling Kaiba along with him. In a quick motion Yami removed Kaiba's knife from his hand, tossing it behind them.

"You won't need that." He stated, forcing Kaiba to keep looking straight. Kaiba had no idea why he went along with it. He just did. It was Yami, that's why. He would do anything Yami asked of him, no matter how much he wanted to deny it.

"What are you doing out so late anyway?" Yami asked, removing his arm from Kaiba's shoulders.

"Walking. What does it look like?" Kaiba hissed, glaring at Yami. Yami simply nodded.

"Me as well." He spoke, smiling. Kaiba scoffed.

"I just watched something that was practically a murder, that doesn't seem like 'walking'" Yami shrugged.

"They're practically the same thing."

"No, they're not." Kaiba growled. Despite the fact he was still a little shaken, he was not afraid to debate with Yami right here and now.
