Chan waits by the door, his anger from that morning returning to him as he listens to his members get comfortable in the waiting rooms. He can feel all of them without having to see them, aware of their various states of exhaustion through their pack bond. The only one he can't feel is Y/n but she's taking a nap with Minho, Jisung napping across the room from them. Hyunjin and Felix are passed out as well, Seungmin close to it. Changbin's watching over Y/n and Jisung, his alpha brimming under the surface with too many emotions.
He might be overstimming. Chan reminds himself to check in with him later.
Chan has already talked to most of his pack about the morning situation. Everyone but Y/n and Jeongin. He's heard everyone's opinion but his youngest alpha and he can't comprehend what his issue is with her. Sure, Y/n's a new member but they've had the chance to get to know her. They all know she isn't a bad person, she fits in rather well with the pack, and yet, he still can't figure out why Jeongin would do this to her.
The sound of footsteps approaching the door jolts Chan out of his thoughts and his hand shoots out to grab his wrist. "Not so fast."
Jeongin flinches from the sudden grab but relaxes at the sight of his pack alpha. "Hyung..."
Chan stares at him with cold eyes. "Come with me."
Jeongin's shoulders sag but he doesn't get the chance to respond as Chan tugs him down the hall, his scent rotten with fury.
The alpha recoils into himself. It's been so long since his hyung's been mad at him. He hates the feeling.
Chan drags him through the building until he finds a secluded area, pinning Jeongin to the wall.
"Where are the pack heads?" Jeongin asks begrudgingly. "Shouldn't they be here for this talk?"
"I've already spoken to them. They don't need to be here for this," Chan responds, eyes darting over Jeongin's scrunched-up face.
"Well?" the younger alpha mutters.
Chan sighs and takes a step back, crossing his arms over his chest. "I need you to know that I am severely disappointed in you, Innie."
The alpha scowls but says nothing, staring intently at the ground.
"Disappointed and furious," Chan continues. "What happened last night? I-I don't- I don't understand, so please. Help me understand."
Jeongin opens his mouth, but Chan cuts him off.
"And don't lie to me, Yang Jeongin. I'll know," he growls.
Jeongin huffs, crossing his own arms over his chest. "I... Hyung, I-"
He growls in frustration, grumbling under his breath.
Chan watches him fidget with a scent laced with irritation and guilt before he sighs, releasing some of his anger and uncrossing his arms. "Talk to me, pup," Chan settles a hand on his shoulder. "What is it?"
Jeongin's eyes dart around as he refuses to meet his alpha's gaze. Chan is patient, trying to reach out to him through the pack bond, but Jeongin's side is closed off and distant. He tries not to take it personally. His pack is allowed to keep their emotions to themselves, but everything is very fragile right now.
