"I'm sorry, I can't do this."

This is the last day of Harlow and Connor. The last day she'll ever see him before they meet during games—or even sponsored partnerships. Harlow felt like shit, an understatement of course.

It was cold. Not really weather that should be in August, because she wore a coat. "Harlow, How's it going?" Connor asked kissing her cheek as he sat down on the bench next to her. It was almost eight o'clock—a time she's learned to go to the beach because there's no one there.

"I'm sorry." She started, Connor was confused. "What do you mean?" He asked, Harlow felt like she was going to vomit. "You leave tomorrow. and we'll be so far away and... What will we do?" She asked him, "Well call and text everyday. We won't always be together Harlow." Connor said and she frowned, "I can hardly be long distance with my Parents and my brothers—" "So you're not even going to try?" Connor asked and Harlow looked terrified.

"No—that's not what I—" "It's not what you meant? Harlow, that's what's implied. You can't act so innocent!" He shouted at her, Connor no longer sat on the bench he stood on the sand. "I'm not acting innocent. I'm taking accountability for what I can't do!" She said through tears, mascara melted from her eyes.

"I know I can't do this." Harlow said and he was straight faced. "Did you think about me? How this would effect me?" Connor asked frustratedly, "I felt fucking guilty Connor! I don't ever want to hurt anyone." Harlow said—Quinn, Jack, and Luke all sat in the car above the beach watching their sister cry over a boy.

"Harlow. I fucking Loved you." Connor told her, "I guess it was just one sided." He said before leaving her standing.

Her glass heart was dropped, shattered. The glass broke her skin and she bled out. She drowned in guilt—it's all her fault. Jack ran down the hill and pulled his sister into a hug.

She never was ready, so she watched him go. The only thing that was left of him was the footprints in the sand soon to be washed away by the rain or a high tide.

"Jack he's gone." Harlow cried, "I know.. I know.." Jack comforted his sister brushing the back of her head with his hand. Her chocolate brown hair dampened by the rain that fell quickly from the dark grey sky. Jack was always the best at comforting others, so was Harlow. Quinn stood awkwardly with his blonde brother next to him, they didn't know what to do either.

"It's all my—my fault." she said in between choked out sobs, "Harles. Never say that. none of this is your fault." Jack said and she smeared her mascara around her face. "You wanted a healthy relationship. Something that doesn't do well long distance." he said softly, "Jack I made him feel like shit—it's my fault!" she cried, "Okay, let's go get some food in you. What do you want to eat?" Jack asked and she shrugged, "Ice cream." Luke suggested making the girl laugh.

"Yeah, Ice cream," Harlow said trying to find the silver lining. "Jesus you look like shit." Quinn joked and Harlow smiled sadly at him, "He's just a boy. There's about four or five million others—one will stick with ya." Quinn said a side hug was all she needed from Quinn. "I love you guys so much." Harlow said hugging all three of her brothers.
