The air was heavy with the smell of burnt machines, mixing with the smoky remains of yet another of Dr. Eggman's big plans gone wrong. The metal walls of his hideout bore the marks of countless battles with Sonic and his friends, each scorch telling a story of the Doctor's failures. Eggman paced back and forth in his command center, his mustache twitching with annoyance as he grumbled to himself.
"I'll never catch that hedgehog... It's always the same story," he muttered, his voice full of frustration and tiredness. Broken screens and robot pieces littered the floor, reminders of the mess that had just happened.
Amidst the wreckage, Eggman's gaze caught a flickering monitor that somehow survived the chaos. He squinted at the screen, curious as he saw something surprising. Images and data moved across the display, catching his eye and distracting him from his defeat.
His fingers tapped the keyboard as he zoomed in on a strange picture. It showed two figures, both girls, standing together. They looked powerful and dangerous, their faces unreadable. Eggman's eyes narrowed as he looked at the information. The twins, as people called them, were said to be the best mercenaries and assassins in dimensions beyond his own.
A nasty grin spread across Eggman's face as an idea started to form. "Well, well, well," he said, his voice full of determination. "I don't need some fancy ruby to beat Sonic, I'll just go back to the basics, however surely there must bee something far more powerful."
Eggman's fingers flew over the keyboard, gathering info about the twins, their skills, and what he could use to his advantage. As the data came in, his crazy laughter echoed through the hideout, promising that he wasn't beaten yet.
Just then, Orbot and Cubot, Eggman's loyal robotic lackeys, scuttled over, looking at the chaos.
"Another rough one, boss," Orbot said in a worried tone, his metallic eyebrows furrowing.
Cubot chimed in, his voice a mix of sympathy and confusion, "Yeah, I don't get why you keep tryin'."
Eggman glared at them, his irritation rising. "I didn't create you two for your opinions," he snapped. "And as for that hedgehog, Sonic, I'll show him. Not even Infinite could beat him, but this time, things will be different, I'll take matters into my own hands."
The Doctor's eyes flashed with a mix of annoyance and determination as he glared at Orbot and Cubot. "Enough chatter, you two. Clean up this mess!" he ordered, pointing to the scattered debris and broken monitors. "The Eggman Empire will rise again, and this time, Sonic won't stand a chance!"
Orbot and Cubot exchanged uncertain glances before nodding obediently. "Right away, boss," Orbot responded, his voice holding a hint of resignation.
Cubot chimed in with a hint of cheerfulness, "You heard him, buddy. Let's get sweepin'!"
As the two robotic lackeys set to work, Eggman's gaze returned to the flickering monitor that had caught his attention. The image of the enigmatic twins burned into his mind, a symbol of his new plan and an opportunity to finally gain the upper hand against his longtime adversary.
With a renewed sense of purpose, Eggman leaned back in his chair, fingers steepled in front of him. "Yes," he muttered to himself, his voice filled with a sinister confidence.
"The Eggman Empire will reign supreme, and Sonic... Sonic will regret ever challenging me."
