Happy reading!

Vegas was not able to sleep. He kept looking at Pete and caressing her hair. A 19 year old girl, who ran from her home when she was just 15, struggled, worked harder than anyone and now was an Interior designer in one of the best company of the country.

He looked at her. Pete, who didn't have anyone to rely on. It must have been hard for her to make friends when everyone around her was almost 4 years older than her.

He looked at her. Pete, who tried to commit suicide when for the nth time a 60 year old man tried to assault her. Pete, who was beaten badly by her grandfather when he saw her trying to take her life.

He looked at her. Pete, who was engaged when she was 13 to a 28 year old man in exchange for money. How can someone's life be so miserable? And how come Vegas add on to make it more miserable?

Perth told him everything. But there was no Perth. It was Pete. Vegas liked Perth. He was attracted to Pete. The one night stand was due to his instant attraction for her. When Vegas looked at her long hair with cute dimples on both sides of her cheeks he knew he wouldn't be able to resist.

Now Pete was lying beside him, clinging cutely like a koala. And why won't she? She was just a 19 year old girl, pretending to be 21, pretending to be a grown up. Pretending to be strong, pretending to be happy, pretending to belong. Vegas now felt responsible for her. She was his. Vegas decided that he'll make her alright. He always wanted to help Perth. So what if he has a different name? They both are same. Vegas will help Pete.

He texted someone to enquire about her whereabouts. As soon as he gets the right information, Vegas will began the task. The task of making Pete happy and safe.

The next morning when Pete woke up, the bed was empty. Vegas was not there. Vegas was gone. Of course he will go. He will leave. Why would anyone want someone as miserable as Pete by their side. Pete could not help but cry. How much more will she cry? Her tears were flowing but she had to wake up. She had to live even though she does not want that.

But what she didn't expect was Vegas in the kitchen, cooking something as if he belonged there.

'Hey, you woke up. Good morning.'Pete could not speak . She was just happy that Vegas was still there. She was standing there trying to not cry again.

'Hey what happened? Why are your eyes red?'

'I thought you left.' She could not help but pout in her own words.

Vegas smiled on that. He went near her, pulled up her chin and said,' I told you I have a habit of waking up early. You forgot?' They both ate breakfast prepared by Vegas in peace. 'Your office is at 9:30, right? Its 8:30 already, freshen up, get dressed, I'll drop you.'

'What about your work?'

'There are benefits of being the Boss. I have a meeting to attend at 11 that I missed yesterday due to someone though. Do you know that person Pete?' Vegas teased Pete but she was not taking it.

'I never asked you to leave a meeting for me.' Pete replied instantly. But the next second regretted it.

Vegas laughed at that. 'There, there Pete. Now you are the person I know. Sassy, but innocent. Cute, but bitchy. Be like this only. I like this version of you better. The Perth one, the real you without any filter. Your life has been dramatic enough, let's not add on to that anymore. Yeah?'

But Pete started getting teary eyed again. This was unexpected but also like the Vegas she talked about for so many years. So she nodded.

'And what time do you leave?'
