That morning I woke up to a loud squealing, I groaned and threw a pillow at where the noise was coming from. Mary. She picked up the pillow and threw it back at me before joining me in my bed.

"So..." she trailed off, as if she was urging me to explain myself.

"So?" I replied, still half asleep and not looking forward to class.

"So," she answered, "The patrol? How'd it go?"

I smiled as the memory of last night came back to me, I hid my face in my pillow as I blushed. Mary sat up so fast as told her all about last night –not like there was much to tell, nothing really happened, though Mary gushed about it as if he had asked me to marry him.

"We have potions first," she pulled me out of bed, and I tumbled onto the floor.

"Exactly? What are you so excited about?" I scrunched my nose, my mind drifting to Professor Slughorn who always seemed to favour the Slytherin students. One time he had given me a detention for coughing too loud.

She grinned at me, "Potions with the Slytherins."

I blinked at her.

"Idiot. Regulus is in Slytherin. He's in our class."

I blinked again.

"Ah, so this why you aren't in Ravenclaw." she gestured to me as a whole and I stuck my tongue out at her. She did the same.

Completely ignoring Mary's antics, I got ready for the day, pulling my robes over my uniform when there was a knock at the door.

"Rory, quidditch practice after class." James yelled through the door. He had become quidditch captain this year, much to my dismay, not that I'm not happy for him, he just makes us practice ten times more than our previous captain had.

I opened the door, stepping out with Mary following behind, "after class? We normally practice in the mornings though." I questioned as we made our way to the Great Hall.

"They changed the schedule," Sirius, Remus, and Peter came to join us now.

We walked together and I zoned out, James was going on about something to Peter who, by the way, didn't seem very interested, Sirius and Mary walked arm in arm probably gossiping, and Remus and I walked slightly behind everyone else.

"You okay?" He looked to me, worry in his eyes, offering me a supportive smile.

"Yep," I smiled back. Did I sort of wanna talk about it? Yes. Did I wanna be the one to bring it up? Definitely not.

"Is this about the patrol?"

Thank Merlin. It was like he could read my mind. I told him about the embarrassing outfit Mary made me wear and I told him about the sweater.

"But what if he gave it to me in a 'will you just shut up and stop shivering' kind of way and not a friendly kind of way?" I rambled on, furrowing my brows as I was deep in contemplation. Remus laughed as he wrapped an arm around my shoulders, and I leaned into his touch.

I didn't really pay attention to anything during breakfast, picking half-heartedly at my food –which Sirius thought was an invitation to help himself. I slapped his hand away and glared at him, to which he flung his hands up in surrender and flashed me his usual shit-eating grin.

I got up, suddenly feeling very overwhelmed by the noise, the smell, and the people. "I'm gonna head to class early, see you around?"

Mary quickly stumbled to join me as a chorus of see yous and good lucks trailed behind us. I glanced back to find James frowning at me, as if he was trying to look into my soul to see what was wrong. I smiled softly at him before manoeuvring my way through the large crowds.
