"You need help hiding that body?" Rowan asked curiously.

She had been walking down the streets of Camelot, headed to meet Gwen at the drawbridge when she had stumbled upon Gaius and Merlin as they were trying to subtly cart a body through the city. She caught up with them quickly and walked alongside the cart, her arms folded behind her back before speaking.

Rowan watched in amusement as both Merlin and Gaius jumped in surprise at her sudden appearance.

"Jesus! One would think it was you with the magic with the way you just appear." Merlin grumbled rubbing a hand over his chest trying to calm his racing heart.

Both Rowan and Gaius reacted simultaneously. Rowan punched him in the arm at the same time as Gaius reached over and hit him over the back of his head.

"Ow!" Merlin yelped.

Rowan let out an exasperated laugh and shook her head at her friend's stupidity.

Gaius grumbled something unintelligible under his breath that Rowan could only assume was an insult.

"That wasn't very nice." Merlin mockingly scolded Gaius with his signature grin playing on his lips.

"Neither is being beheaded." Gaius shot back irritably.

"Speaking from experience are you?" Merlin asked.

Rowan's eyes bounced between them as they spoke.

"How about you walk and talk." She said loudly her voice overtaking their bickering ones. "I suspect that it would cause quite a stir if the two of you were found with a dead body in your cart."

The uncle and nephew became silent for a moment, they both simultaneously glanced back at their cart where the corpse lay beneath a blanket.

"Yes."

"Right."

They both spoke at the same time before going back to pulling the cart.

"You know most people would ask where we got the body, Ro." Merlin commented as they walked through the narrow streets. "Not offer to help hide it."

Rowan grinned. "Why? Did you kill him?"

"No!" Merlin said defensively.

"Gaius?" Rowan asked in mock surprise.

The court physician threw her an unamused glare.

"No, he was found in the streets, some sort of disease, Gaius couldn't figure out what kind." Merlin supplied.

"Oh, that's no fun." Rowan said with a sigh.

"And one of us killing him is?" Merlin asked incredulously.

"Well, it's sure as hell less worrying."

Both Gaius and Merlin paused in their walking to look at her.

"Don't look at me like that, Camelot having a mystery disease Gaius can't identify is far scarier than one of you going off your rockers and killing someone." Rowan said defensively. "I could take the two of you in a fight." She added with a shrug.

Merlin looked like he wanted to argue and Gaius just shook his head and sighed.

"Let me." Rowan said moving over to beside Gaius putting a hand on his shoulder.
