Malik and Arlo are seen laying down on the grass. Staring up at the moon.
"Thank you for being with me always Arlo.. I knew since the day I brung you home.. I'd feel safe." Malik spoke softly to Arlo. Arlo's antennas went up and he looked over at Malik. "Thank you.. I'm happy to be your companion, Malik." Arlo reassured Malik. Arlo and Malik had been best friends for a few months. Malik bought Arlo because he was always alone, he needed someone for comfort and stuff. Arlo always listened to Malik, always staying with him. Arlo is an AI, learning off of Malik.
The two stayed under the moon.. Staring up. "Why are we staring at the moon Malik?" Arlo questions Malik. "Well.. It's nice. It's a nice night.. People do this all the time. Staring up at the stars and stuff. Why?" Malik turned over to Arlo. "Just wondering." Arlo observed the moon. They stared up for hours.. "Alright bud, time for bed" Malik got up and helped Arlo up. They started walking back to the house. "What movie are we watching tonight?" Arlo asked Malik, every night they watch movies together. It was practically their thing. "Hm.. I thought maybe a romance movie? I'm not sure." Malik chuckles. They make it to the house and sit on the couch. "Let me find the movie and then I'm gonna have the clean the cracks between your faceplates again. You got some grass in it you goof-"
Malik puts on a romance movie. Malik was always a fan of it since he's still single. Alro doesn't mock Malik though, as long as he's with his best friend.. "There we go! Alright let me go get some q-tips and rubbing alcohol! You get the snacks ready!" Malik gets up and goes to the bathroom. Arlo gets up from the couch and into the kitchen. Getting snacks ready. Every moment Arlo is with Malik, he's always recording and taking pictures. Putting them in an undeleteable folder in his drive. Best friends forever. Soon Malik comes back with the q-tips and rubbing alcohol. "Hey Arlo? I was thinking.. Do you even like the romance movies I watch? I mean.. I never let you pick." Malik sits on the couch.
"I don't mind at all, Malik. I find the movies you watch interesting." Alro heats up popcorn and sits down by Malik with the bowl of popcorn. "Thank you Alro! You ready?" Malik picks up the remote. "I always am, friend." Malik presses start on the movie. As they watched the movie, Arlo always analyzed the movie. What is it about, what's gonna happen. All of it. But recently as Arlo analyzed the romance movies, his AI brain slowly realized he might be in love with Malik. Everything he analyzed compared to Malik and his relationship.
Malik fell asleep after the movie. Arlo gets up and puts a blanket over Malik and powers off on the couch by him.
The next morning comes by and Arlo powers on and sees that Malik is not by him. "Malik?.... Malik?" Alro got up and looked around for him. Arlo searched the whole house for him. Arlo soon went to the room he wasn't allowed in, Malik's room. He opens the door and sees Malik Asleep on his bed. He shuts the door quietly and goes to the kitchen. Arlo starts making breakfast for Malik when he awakens. Alro is honestly a great cook! He makes fluffy heart shaped pancakes with strawberries and whip cream on it. With a iced tea next to it.
Malik woke up to the smell and came out. "Arlo..?" Yawns "what are you doing?" Malik goes into the kitchen. "Making you breakfast! Of course. I knew you'd wake up to the smell of my food... Like always-" Alro hands Malik the plate. Malik sits down at the table and starts chowing down on the food Alro made. "How is it?" Arlo asks Malik. "It's great!" Malik chuckles and continues to eat. A few hours pass by and Malik and Arlo are sitting outside. "I'm bored Arlo" Malik groaned. "Hm.. Isn't there a pond nearby? Maybe we can go watch the fish there." Arlo smiled. "You really like that pond huh?" Malik chuckled. "It's so pretty! Reminds me of you." Malik chuckles "alright fine come on, we can walk there" they get up and start walking to the pond.
"Hey Malik? I've been analyzing the movie's we've been watching. How come there aren't stuff like.. Robots loving humans, or monsters loving humans?" Arlo questions Malik. "That's a good question.. I mean there are vampire romance movies.. So." Malik shrugs. Soon they make it to the pond and Arlo gets exited, his antennas go up and glow yellow. Arlo sits by the water and stares down at the water. Watching the fishes and critters swim around. Malik sat by Arlo. "You really like the pond huh?" Arlo nodded at Malik.
Alro pulls out some bread crumbs and puts it in the pond. The fish come up in the pond and start eating the crumbs. "You think it's weird if a Robot would fall in love with a human?" Arlo spoke while looking down at the fishes. Malik stopped and froze. "What?" Malik looks at Arlo. "What? Is something wrong with it-? I mean if a vampire can fall in love with a human why can't a robot?" Arlo turned to Malik. The reason Malik was single was because he was scared and uninterested in love. "Nothing.. We're gonna go home in 5 minutes." Malik stares back down in the water. "Is something wrong Malik, you seem upset." Alro looks at Malik worried. "I'm fine."
5 minutes later, they start heading back home. "Malik, please talk to me. Did I upset you in any way? I was just asking a question. I swear, I didn't mean it like any wrong way. Malik please talk to me!" Alro starts getting worried about Malik. "I'm fine, come on Arlo." They continue walking home. Once they get home Malik takes Arlo to his room. "Malik? What's wrong? I'm never allowed in here, how come I'm I'm now? Did I do something wrong?!" Arlo starts to panic. Malik sits in w chair in front of Arlo. "You are fine Arlo, calm down buddy. I just wanted to ask something. We're you referring you as the robot and me as the human in your question?" Malik looks at Arlo. Arlo looked scared. "I'm not gonna get mad Arlo."
Arlo feels his metal body overheat. "Yes.. I'm sorry, did I make you uncomfortable? Did I do something bad? Please tell me Malik!" Alro is freaking out a bit. "No no.. Arlo you're fine. I just have to do something." Malik stands up and puts his hand on Arlo's back. Arlo's pupils shrink. "Malik..? What are you doing?.." Arlo looked up at Malik. "Malik?.. You're not actually gonna... Please Malik..." Arlo's antennas go down and he panics. "I'm sorry." Malik sighs

Malik stares down at Arlo. "I'm sorry."
"I.... I love you... Malik."
Arlo shuts down. For good.
Malik takes Arlo away and leaves him in a forest with a rose bush next to him. For good..
"I'm sorry bud.. One day.. I'll see you again."
