The warm sun rays entered the Chief's mauri. Kxari and Kutaan had stayed the night in Tonowari's mauri since Tsireya had offered. Tulkun season approached once again, and excitement boomed throughout the whole village, waiting patiently for the herd of Tulkuns to come. Kutaan and Tsireya were doing each other's hair. Ronal had just finished weaving the girls their new garments. Tonorwari and Ao'nung left the mauri not too long ago to the reef to watch the Tulkun return.
Kxari sat behind Ronal as she helped her put her chest garment on. Her hands swiftly tightened the garment around her neck but not tight enough to choke her. With a pat on Ronal's back, Kxari stepped away from the older woman. Ronal turned and faced Kxari, placing both of her hands on her cheeks.
"Today is the day where you complete your iknimaya. So be ready." Kxari nodded and cuddled in Ronal's hands for a bit. But before she could say anything the loud horn sounded throughout the village. In pure excitement, Tsireya and Kutaan ran out of the mauri into the water. Ronal gave her one last smile before walking out of the mauri and diving into the water. Following after, Kxari dived into the water and called for her Tsurak. It gracefully swam toward her Kxari gripped the handle of the saddle and formed tsaheylu. Kxari made her way towards the Sully's mauri. Rising from the water she stopped in front of the mauri where Neteyam and his parents stood.
When Neteyam noticed her he was surprised. She looked much more relaxed than her usual attire. The scratches that she received after her last training were now fully healed but left a scar on her lip. Other than her usual chest garment it was much more revealing than her others, her loincloth was decorated with numerous shells and such. Accessories littered her body, a choker hugged her neck, and a tail accessory ended at the end of her tail. Some armbands were tied around her arms. Neteyam smiled down at her.
Kxari extended her hand out to him. Looking back to his parents who were watching the whole ordeal nodded in approval as he took her hand and he climbed onto her Tsurak. He wrapped his hands around her waist to secure himself. With a nod, they dived back into the water. Underwater the Tulkuns sang in excitement seeing their spirit brothers and sisters. Kxari looked back at Neteyam and pointed to where her spirit sister swam with her mother. They passed many other Tulkun and Metkayina to her spirit sister. Dismounting the Tsurak Kxari grabbed ahold of Neteyam's hand and swam toward the Tulkun.
